Palin Takes the Bait Again; Blasts Levi

She just can't help herself. Why is the former governor fighting with a 19-year-old kid?

In a statement issued this afternoon, Palin, R-Alaska, said: “We have purposefully ignored the mean spirited, malicious and untrue attacks on our family. We, like many, are appalled at the inflammatory statements being made or implied.”

“Trig is our 'blessed little angel' who knows it and is lovingly called that every day of his life. Even the thought that anyone would refer to Trig by any disparaging name is sickening and sad.”

Palin also attacks CBS, which aired the first part of an interview with Johnston on “The Early Show” this morning.

“CBS should be ashamed for continually providing a forum to propagate lies. Consider the source of the most recent attention-getting lies -- those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention and are likely to say and do anything for even more attention,” Palin says in the statement.

30. I'm not sure I believe every word Levi says, given his likely credibility

but boy, the way she rises to the bait every time he says something is a gift that keeps on giving. She just cannot consider the source and let it go. If she could, it would be a lot more dignified than responding each and every time he comes up with more "dirt." But she doesn't trust the public to draw its own conclusions about his credibility, and feels the need to refute every single thing he says.

It's really unfortunate for her grandson, because he's going to have to be raised within this family feud.

Who knows whether any of it's true? The only thing for sure is that hell hath no fury like an ex-future-son-in-law-who-knocked-up-your-daughter scorned. And he's just gonna keep dropping little bombs and she's gonna keep responding to 'em.
