NEWS FLASH! We don't have 60 votes, because Lieberman Is Not A Democrat
In 2012, Democrats Need To Force Lieberman Into The Republican Party, Then Run Against Him.

By threatening to filibuster the health bill, there really is no reason to keep Lieberman in the caucus. He is lying son of a bitch, who just stabbed President Obama in the back after President Obama spoke up for him. We really do not have 60 votes, because Lieberman is not a Democrat.

Finally, we just need to neuter Lieberman such that any amendment offered by Lieberman is toxic, and voted down.

4. We tried in 06. Hopefully, we'll get a really strong candidate to run against him
if he runs again. With all the money that the insurance companies are probably showering on him, he may just retire and live the good life...

7. I remember that ... it was a Dem vs Lieberman vs a Repug ...
and the Dems lost ... and what was the guy's name who was the "Repug" party's official candidate? (Not the one they had in their back pocket, who would have been Lieberman ...)

11. So many Dems I called from Lamont HQ didn't know who the hell Lamont was.
Those that did thought he was just another rich guy from Greenwich (which he was) who was dabbling in politics and if he lost well, so what, he had his millions to fall back on (that part was true, but unfair because he really cared deeply about the issues, esp. the Iraq war). They knew ole Joe so that was the deal. We tried...

5. Lieberman has a chairmanship.
That I presume he wishes to keep.

Obama personally allowed Lieberman to keep his chair, a move that I hope was to generate leverage for a situation like this.

6. Why did Gore ever pick him?
For the former vice-presidential nominee to buck his party like this is disgusting.

9. Fucking DLC bullshit as usual
They told Gore he was too "liberal" and needed a "centrist" to "balance" the ticket. :puke:
