Rockefeller Endorses ‘Opt-Out’ Public Plan

An opt-out clause would protect the public option, and would help secure the necessary votes to pass health care reform, without compromising on the type of coverage or level of affordability. This will still save money and provide a real public option for people, and I am glad Leader Reid is moving forward with this strong health care reform agenda.

6. It's unclear. Various versions with an opt-out are sent to the CBO.

I personally hope that the more liberal congress opens it up to people who don't have employer insurance or meet the criteria of poor employer insurance (which should change anyay) due to the reform plans. That's what we need and they could attach all peopl in medicaid into the same group.
