President Obama to help Democrats raise $1.5 million
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/10/26/obama-to-help-democrats-raise-1-5-million/

President Barack Obama is the main attraction Monday night at a fundraiser in Miami for his party.

A Democratic source tells CNN that the reception and dinner will bring in $1.5 million for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and its House counterpart, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

A similar DSCC-DCCC joint event held in June in Washington and also headlined by Obama raked in nearly $3 million, according to party sources. Both the DSCC and DCCC out raised their Republican counterparts in September and both committees hold an edge over the Republicans when it comes to cash on hand.

The event in Miami is the latest in a string of fundraisers for Obama. The president headlined big dollar fundraisers in New York and San Francisco over the past two weeks for the Democratic National Committee and Friday he helped raise money for fellow Democrats Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts and Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut.

2. The Dems have more COH than the GOP? Really?
First time I heard that.

Poor GOP. 20% and sinking like the Titanic.

3. I will be donating
as soon as I get my first check, I just started a new job. I was out of work for a while, due to being layed off. The dems are gonna need as much money as they can get for the up coming 2010 elections. We need to hang on to the seats we have, well at least I hope we can.

5. The party in power always has more money than the party out of power
With very rare exception incumbents will raise and spend more money than their challengers.
