Days of Whine & No's - This is a President built for these times. Be glad.
Barraged with sinking polls, an apathetic and antagonistic congress, anti-anything media pundits, and mounting real time issues from every imaginable angle of the planet, how can Obama do it? Easy. I think this is a President who thrives being the underdog and facing adversity. It is who he is. He would be wasted in days of wine and roses and was made for these days of whine and no's. As mush as it is painful to watch the hope from late last year be overshadowed by the reality of the times, it was bound to happen and I think he knew it. This is not someone who would be happy clearing brush or being babysat by his fathers bag men.

There are leaders who are better when we are in good times and there are ones who can handle looking up and just barely seeing the bottom. The euphoria the naysayers and easily mislead feel will keep them warm at night for a while - but I believe this president will thrive in bad times and make the decisions to head into better times. He may not be there to enjoy them, but he was built to handle them.

"Now look at the people
In the streets, in the bars
We are all of us in the gutter
But some of us are looking at the stars"

2. Indeed. That's why I voted for him. He doesn't let emotions rule his life
and decisions. Like I do. I couldn't run this country, I would've jumped out a window a month into my first term.

3. I won't care if he does a lousy job - I'll vote for him in the next election
just because he drives the neocons apoplectic. Priceless, indeed.

6. I dont think he's easily swayed by negative opinions of him....
.... you dont grow up being the chocolate chip in the cookie without it affecting your approach to life. I've know a few chocolate chips in my day .... and they have been some of the most well-adjusted people I have known. (So much for what Uncle Cracker Justice of the Peace in Louisiana thinks on the matter.) Add to that the fact that, as he has said, his mother raised him with a very strong sense of self worth. He will make the right decisions after a great deal of research and thought and, as much as humanly possible, without letting his ego get in the way.

Behold the limitless possibilities of a beloved child.
