Edited on Thu Oct-22-09 12:34 AM by Clio the Leo
This from David Shuster's twitter ..... I cant find any news article that backs this up and I slept through the 4pm hour of MSNBC. Anyone see it? I dont recall anyone (here) mentioning it at the time. Just speculation at this point, but very interesting if true.

There are developments on capitol hill regarding the health care public option. We will get the latest and hear from Sen. Leahy at 4pm. .... House doing a "whip count" now on public option to see if it has 218 votes. Senator Leahy "confident" today PO will be in Senate version. .... Leahy wouldn't talk about what makes him so confident... but offered high praise, in general, for Harry Reid.

.... why would he praise Leader Reid for getting a PO into the House bill? Nope .... apparently Leahy said he was confident there would be a PO in THE SENATE version as well.

4. This Is Confusing, Why Would Leahy Do A Whip Count In Congress?

I think Shuster's got something mixed up. Leahy is in the Senate.

5. I think
those are two separate thoughts.

Here's his latest tweet about the whip count:

Pelosi wouldn't go into details about her HCR "whip count" this morning. But she stated again, "public option... will be in the bill."
