Is reconciliation for health care off the table? (Updated)
Edited on Tue Oct-13-09 02:59 PM by DrToast
Isn't there a deadline coming up on the 15th for reconciliation? I haven't heard much about that lately, even though it's only 2 days away.

I found some new info. According to this article, October 15th was just the deadline set to make a deal. But he says:

While all committees with oversight have to report bills by October 15th in order for them to be eligible for reconciliation, there is no such deadline for the Senate Budget committee, which will merge the Finance and HELP committee bill. The Budget commitee can report a health care bill whenever it wants, and it will still be eligible for reconciliation.

4. I think it's def. a possibility.........
.... but it's the final option, not the first. It doesn't spin well politically with the middle. If they can get a good PO without doing it, they will.
