Will Olympia Snowe vote with Obama or with the knuckle dragging GOP Neanderthals?
I have a gut feeling that Senator Olympia Snowe will vote with the Democrats and will hand President Obama his healthcare reform victory to improve the health care delivery to all Americans. Olympia Snowe will be vilified by the right wing nuts if she sides with Obama, but she has nothing to worry about in her home state of Maine; she is admired and respected there and will easily win re-election if she desires to continue her Senate career. So I expect Sen. Snow to announce today that she will be voting "yes".

1. She is on line for a leadership position in the Commerce Committee.
The GOP leadership is threatening to not support her if she votes for the Bill.

5. Wanna bet?
She's still figuring out what to do and knows that she can vote yes or no on down the line.

She won't abstain, being the fine ole principled Senator that she is. I'd bet she votes no so the Dems will keep courting her.

9. She won't be admired and respected in Maine if she screws us over on health care.
She is admired for doing things like supporting SCHIP.

10. who the eff cares?
I live in Maine. Why the hell should one batshit old lady who is senator to a state with about 3 people total, 1 of which graduated high school, get to decide health care or anything else for the entire country?

Please, please, please Obama and the rest, stop kowtowing to the Maine senators. Please.

It's so flippin' simple. Just give the rethugs their opportunity to play, and when they fumble the ball, play without them.

11. I hope she votes with the knuckle draggers and kills this bill in committee.
There are other bills from other committees there, like the one from the HELP committee that might be better health care reform than this one is.

15. Why would you want that to happen
Not getting this bill out of committee, continues to drag out the process. Exactly what the Republicans want. You need it out of committee, so you can reconcile it with the HELP bill

19. She has stated she is voting for it.
So it will get out of committee. What if the reconciliation removes the public option from the HELP bill or waters it down so much that it's useless? Some of the Senators are saying this is what will happen. Why do we settle for a Pyhrric victory in this?

21. All of the GOP who came out in favor of it last week were doing it to give her cover....
... I realize it's easy for me to say now, five hours after she announced she would, but I had an epiphany on the way to work.

All last week I knew there had to be SOME reason for it (Dole, Bloomberg, Schwarzenager, the former Bush officia, etc) ........ and now it all makes sense.
