3 hours of news programming on 1 cable network does not constitute a "Liberal" Media
and those who continue to talk about MSNBC like it is a liberal news outfit
are full of shit. General Electric counterprogramms anything that might show
up on MSNBC that one could argue is "liberal" (I call it honest reporting) by
all that they show on CNBC and NBC and the larger portion of MSNBC's Morning programming.

When someone that I was talking to the other day revealed himself as a birther,
I asked him if he watched Fox news. He responded by saying....yeah, I watch Fox News,
and I bet you Watch MSNBC!

I told him that I don't really watch either of these corporate media channels,
because at the end of the day, I understand what he might not....
that neither News Corporation owned by an Australian nor General Electric who makes big money
in the defense industry are interested in seeing this President succeed....cause success for this President would mean higher taxes for corporations and possible regulations to keep
the media from consolidating that much more. In otherwords, I told him,
they are both ran by corporate entities who want
maximized revenues, low to no taxes, and no regulation that might get in their way.

and then I said to him....the only thing that they want is for you to keep deluding yourself
into thinking that someday, you too might be rich, so that they can sell you on the ridiculous
notion that you should not want to hurt your own possible future (cause anything is possible in the good ol' US of A). As long as they've got you supporting them as they work against your best interest; like a decent living wage (he earns Minimum wage), and possible health Benefits (cause he doesn't get any), then you are of some use to them.

He's a bartender for a business I do the accounting for, so I know how badly he has it.

So the next time anyone wants to equate MSNBC as the Liberal Version of Fox,
make sure to let them have it!

1. It's not really possible to just put on any channel and expect to get
a progressive viewpoint or even decent reporting.

2. The flagship station of Air America Radio (NYC) is only running three AAR shows on its
schedule (Rachel, Montel, and Ron Reagan). I repeat, the FLAGSHIP STATION. AAR wanted more time but station wouldn't lease it. It dropped Ring of Fire, Freethought Radio, Mark Sussman, State of Belief, Politically Direct, Lionel, 7 Days in America, and Ron Kuby within 12 months.

3. MSNBC isn't Liberal, it's truthful.*

Which I suppose makes it more Liberal, because only liberals tell the truth these days.

Oh, and don't forget David Shuster during the day. He tells the truth (=more Liberal).

*Except Morning Joe, but they aren't exactly Fox News either, they're just kind of stupid and loud.

6. Being kind of middle of the road doesn't make MSNBC Liberal....
which is why one cannot compare MSNBC as being FOX's counterpart; not even close.
That's what the bartender was trying to say....and I think it is a refrain that the
right uses......even though it is an absolutely incorrect one.

4. Neitherthe Olbermans or the O'reilly's of the world report real news.
There is more RW reporting than Far Left but both are equally bad. No point of view should be represented. We should get just the facts. But facts don't sell, while overheated emotionalism does.I listen to neither side on this.

5. Sure it does - just like one principal stopped from forcing children to pray is "war on religion"
