1. What kind of an idiotic poll is this?
Why not ask who is better: Obama or Ahmedinejead? Or Obama and Mugabe?

Do you think you could post a similar poll on a Venezuelan blog and not be thrown to jail - if you are lucky?

5. That's an interesting statement.
Seeing that Chavez's tactics have been more heavy-handed, it seems as if you are implying that the Venezuelan people deserve a less democratic government than Americans. Me, I think of giving people human rights, not deciding what they should and shouldn't have based on where they live. But that can't be what you're really saying, is it?

42. Here is the point that you missed in your misguided zeal for adulation
Obama is good for USA.

Chavez is good for Venezuela.

Cannot compare USA to Venezuela for the following reason: prior to Chavez, Venezuela was run by white oligarchs. They hated Chavez for a long time, partly because Chavez is of mixed race. Obama would have been killed by one of the death squads of the oligarchs long before he would have become prominent in politics.

Zorro's poll is nothing but flame bait. He supports the Honduras coup, which Obama opposes.

55. I don't know if Obama opposes the coup regimes...
His government officials, including Mrs. Clinton, have repeatedly appointed blame for the current situation in Honduras to president Zelaya, e.g. calling his return to his country "foolish". It was also the US who set up talks between president Zelaya and the de facto regime, thus equating the constitutional president and the coup-plotters. The US has still not cut off all aid to the country. And the US military base in Honduras (the one which president Zelaya was closing), is still in operation and busier than ever.

So I seriously doubt Obama is really opposing the coup... He wouldn't be the first Democratic president to support or approve a military coup.

...compared to Iraq, Afghanistan, DADT, DOMA, health care reform, and torture (still outsourcing that to shady Middle Eastern regimes through the "rendition" operations).

because it's LoZocollo. :hi:

I think I read somewhere Chavez doesn't like teh gays due to his catholicism so I would have problems with THAT. otherwise i take, with a grain of salt, everything i hear about chavez from our media since they tend to demonize any head of state that won't let us enter their country to plunder their natural resources and cheap labor.

66. LoZoccolo is sipping some brandy as he enjoys his successful flamebait
It hasn't even occurred to the mods that comparing Obama to Chavez is akin to comparing apples and oranges. We don't even have the entrenched oligarchy, with support of a reactionary Catholic Church, and dead enders in the military, that comprise the traditional axis of evil in Latin America.

Does Chavez have a School of the Americas to train people to murder and torture Americans? Is Chavez refusing to extradite to US a well-known terrorist that blew up a civilian jetliner?

I've said it before, I'll say it again, even if it gets deleted. He's had thread after thread after thread locked here, more over the years than any other DUer I can think of, and this kind of stuff is his stock in trade. It has to be for the comedy value, which I admit is high. :)

So I won't be trying to get rid of your message here, but I don't understand how you can call me a troll for espousing an opinion that is up to 75% in my poll. Granted, there are other people who are taking neither choice, but there seems to be a lot of people who participated.
