Palin: McDonnell Personally Asked for Help
Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell repeatedly and personally asked former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for help this summer in his campaign for Virginia governor, a Palin spokeswoman said.

But by late August, Palin learned that the McDonnell campaign no longer wanted her assistance, Palin adviser Meg Stapleton said in an interview tonight.

Earlier this week, McDonnell reacted with a bit of sarcasm when asked whether Palin would be campaigning with him. "There was a time earlier on when she was governor when I thought she would come here,'' he said. "But I think she seems to be busy with books and other things like that. We've still got about 20 different events scheduled down the road and she's not one of them."

But Stapleton says Palin is not too busy to come. She says that her boss offered to help McDonnell numerous times both in conversations with him and his campaign and through the Republican Governors Association.

6. The 1st printing of her book "Going Rogue" will bring in $45 Million
per her publisher Harper Collins. That is a windfall compared to
her Alaska gov's salary.

9. This is essentially money laundering.
The book will be a huge bestseller in no small part because right wing organizations like Newsmax will buy up thousands and thousands of copies, at a loss.

She will also get practically unlimited free publicity from the MSM.

3. Palin is poison.
I don't know anything about this McDonnell guy, but if he's choosing to separate himself from Sarah, he's making a wise decision.

5. So Palin's way of making herself relevant is by osmosis?
Hanging around on other's campaign trails and talking about her good life in Alaska? She's nothing now. A fluke that got a shot at big time national politics, then quit the only job she had before the end of her term.

15. They're both trying to save face.
He's disavowing Teh Stoopid, and she's claiming relevance. These positions are mutually exclusive, I'm afraid. Look for this feud to escalate.

10. That's too bad.
Palin campaigning for McDonnell might be the only thing at this point that would help Deeds close the gap!

11. Pretty sure it's because McDonnell didn't want to lose.
Sarah Palin and independent voters are like magnets with the same polarity--she comes in, they scatter.

12. McDonnell may be an idiot but he's no fool...
At this point, he's positioned to become the next governor and Northern Virginia isn't looking to skew as much to the Dem side like it did in 2006 and 2008.

The only thing that could cost McDonnell the election at this point is for Palin to start making speeches full of her "us vs. them" and "real Americans" rhetoric esp. when Northern Virginia is usually thrown into the "not real Americans" column by most Republicans.

Tina Fey and Dave took her down a long time ago, it's just starting to kick in now. Love it! :)

14. Please come to Virginia Sarah
We'd love to have you boost backroom Bob and his crazy right campaign.

This guy has bigger flame outs than Sarah in store but she does add value to the proposition
that he's a right wing shill, wholly owned by Pat Robertson.

16. Probably not an entirely encouraging indicator of future success for
a Palin presidential candidacy.
