I heard that this guy took our tax dollar and his company is still treating people like shit,
working foreclosure with JP Morgan Chase is like chasing your own tail.

1. When I used to work for JPMC....
It was stated his goal was to make there be only one bank by buying out all the other banks. He hates Citibank and the woman who was the head of it. Some stupid bank drama where they came from the same tutor or he mentored her and she managed to improve Citibank. In any event, he hates them and wants them out of the way. Ditto for BoA. If BoA was really going to go under Chase would buy it. Everyone in the bank new Dimon's plans and making New York run by one bank was the fundamental goal.

3. Dunno. We hated him.
The dirty stuff JPMC does to it's workers is out of control. But beyond that, when he came in he cut tons of benefits, company perks. He really is about the money. I think most everything was done cheaply so that they could plump up profits. A lot of people who were there before Dimon talked about that--I think he cut perks down by about 30-40% and decreased Chase down to like 19 out of 3 of being one of the best places to work.

5. I worked for BankOne when he was CEO there
Before they merged with JPMC. I don't know anything about him as a person, but he came in, cut our benefits, made it harder to get bonuses, cut out most of our perks, and closed a few offices and laid off over 1,000 people. We were constantly afraid our office would get closed and we'd lose our jobs. I went from having a job I (mostly) enjoyed in a relaxed environment with good pay and benefits to almost hitting my (drastically lowered) salary cap, being constantly stressed about having to meet ever more stringent goals, and always being afraid of losing my job. It was awful, I managed to stay on about a year after he became CEO.

I heard that reason he hated Citi is because they fired him after he bankrupted their credit card division, this would be right before BankOne hired him. Anyway, at BankOne he was all about increasing profits by screwing the employees.

6. If that's all you know about Jamie while you were working there
Edited on Sun Oct-11-09 03:33 PM by iconocrastic
you weren't paying very much attention.

He's only the best manager by far of all the big banks.
