Rachel Maddow: Obama Derangement Syndrome
Edited on Fri Oct-09-09 08:49 PM by IndianaGreen
Tonight's show is about all the crazy people that would rather see the country go down the toilet than to ever say a kind word about Obama on any topic. They cheered the Olympics going to Brazil, not because they were Chicagoans concerned about the cost and burden to working class, but because they hate anything that involves Obama in a positive light. Had Obama spoken in favour of Brazil, they would have accused him of being un-American.

They hate Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize, while conveniently ignoring the rationale given for the award. These are the same people that nominated George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan for the Nobel Peace Prize.

I will second Rachel Maddow's words on tonight's show, by every measure, all Americans should feel proud today that President Obama was bestowed with the Nobel Peace Prize.

Barbara Boxer called this a "wonderful day for our nation," and I agree!

Congratulations President Obama!

On edit:

Obama's Nobel win: Full citation

The following is the text of the official announcement that US President Barack Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize:

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples.

The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.

Obama has as president created a new climate in international politics.

Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play.

Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts.

The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations.

Thanks to Obama's initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting.

Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future.

His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population.

For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman.

The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that "Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges".

3. Thank you, for saying that.
Michael Moore had some great words on it, too.

P.S. Your opposition has spent the morning attacking you for bringing such good will to this country. Why do they hate America so much? I get the feeling that if you found the cure for cancer this afternoon they'd be denouncing you for destroying free enterprise because cancer centers would have to close. There are those who say you've done nothing yet to deserve this award. As far as I'm concerned, the very fact that you've offered to walk into the minefield of hate and try to undo the irreparable damage the last president did is not only appreciated by me and millions of others, it is also an act of true bravery. That's why you got the prize. The whole world is depending on the U.S. -- and you -- to literally save this planet. Let's not let them down.

5. KR+7.

ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) is likely even more common than CDS (Clinton Derangement Syndrome) has ever been.

6. Well, Clinton may have been the "first black president," but . . .
Obama is actually, well, *black* -- it makes a difference when you're a psychopath.

7. The Arkansas Project was pretty deranged
and it was well financed by the super-rich fascist Richard Mellon Scaife.
