Does this have an element of truth to it?

Obama the intellectual has a lot of complex ideas. Obama the common man understands the pain of the people.

Somehow though, he's really struggled to connect the two.

Found this comment on a forum discussing why Obama/Fed is declaring mission accomplished over the economic troubles of our country - despite rising unemployment.

1. No, the problem is not so much Obama...
as it is the games that are played on the Hill.

Far to many reps are the "what can I get out of it" kind and not the "what is better for all" kind. The challenge is not an internal conflict Obama is having, it is all the shit that is in his way and the party of "NO".

2. Sounds a lot like President Clinton.
Clinton was an intellectual who came from an average income family. Bush Jr. never understood the common people because he was born rich and he was not intellectual.

3. I do sometimes worry that he overestimates the intellect of the American people....
.... however, one of his strong suits is that he recognizes when he needs to fix stuff and attempts to do so. That's a skill the last guy never seemed to learn.

6. Jon Stewart had a bit a few weeks ago
where he was talking about how president's lose the approval of the American people after a big controversy that shines a harsh light on them. As he was talking about the teabaggers he turned the question on his head and wondered if Obama's approval rating of us was going to decline.

4. After what I saw (MM's Capitalism: Love story) it really doesn't
matter what any politician "declares." I'm in total agreement with one main statement in the documentary. "You cannot 'regulate' evil. Evil has to be eliminated." Until this evil is eradicated, the economic 'troubles' of this country will persist. Period.
