Shuster tweets "dems on hill furious"
CBO delay in scoring Baucus committee HCR. So, no vote until next week. Meanwhile, dems on hill are "furious" with WH coddling of Baucus.

1. If they're furious, they should do something about it instead of having a tantrum.
They are, after all, a co-equal branch of the fucking government. Vote to remove Baucus from the committee chairmanship if you're that mad.

9. Baucus should NOT be in charge of that bill anyway, given his MASSIVE conflict of interests.

For god's sakes, this is just institutionalized bribery and corruption at the highest level of government when a guy who received $3 MILLION from insurance/health sector is in charge of a health insurance reform. (His cruel joke of a bill was written by a Wellpoint operative, btw. It figures, doesn't it.)

The corruption is just mindblowing, how we tolerate this is simply beyond me.

Wow, it was really written by Wellpoint? I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised.

How we tolerate this corruption and this travesty is uncomprehensible.

4. Looks to me like the CBO isn't exactly user friendly either.
They have hemmed and hawed and wasted time all along. It's going to cost some money, get over it.

7. WHat exactly are you suggesting
that the WH do? "Fire" a senator, or just "fire" him from his chairmanship? Would you have suggested the same thing one year ago?

8. Gee, I don`t recall saying that a senator should be fired.
Maybe I should have been clearer and said that his bill should be kicked to the curb.

5. It's reasonable to wait for CBO estimates of the cost of amendments...
...before voting on those amendments.

I don't like Max Baucus because of his position against the public option, but I don't mind this delay.

6. Generally, I'd wholeheartedly agree but Baucus has allowed this to be slow walked to death
Especially considering the focus he put on CBO scoring already. I think he's playing games and am all but certain he works for corporate interests rather than being guided by wise stewardship like he is pretending.

10. I sure would like to see CBO figures on a genuine single payer. . .
Are they going to cost that out for us someday?

But I don't think he ever did.

13. Maybe this is the excuse they're looking for to just say Ding! time's up
we're moving along without the Finance Bill.

Can they do that? I don't think there's anything in the Finance Bill of any value that couldn't be added back in during conference.

Also, wouldn't his kill off the bad Pharma deal since it was made thru Baucus?

16. Well I was pissed about it months ago. I don't get why Obama does this with Baucus
Its frustrating beyond words. He did the same thing with Grassley. Neither of them are trying to help, so why kiss their azz?

returns to the AIG bonus legislation, as promised.

Take Baucus to the coat room and do a bit of arm twisting. Good grief. Stand up to this guy.
