Brewer Caught on Camera Calling Phoenix a "Hell Hole;" Has The Lady Finally Snapped?
On behalf of pundits across the state, we would like to say one thing to the beleagured Governor Brewer: Thank you.

At a meeting with state Republicans in Tucson last night, Governor Jan Brewer is caught on tape calling Phoenix a "hell hole."

"It's a great relief, to say the least, to get out of that hellhole in Phoenix," the governor callously says.

While we appreciate the material, rather than crush this softball out of the park, we're going to offer Jan a little compassion. She has had one hell of a month.

The governor was referring to the vicious budget battle that's been waging at the capitol, which she has been caught in the middle of for the last three months, not the city itself.

It does seem as though the heat of the "hell hole" is finally getting to the governor.

Over the past week, Brewer has watched as she has somehow become the least popular figure, within her own party, in the entire country. The top spot was previously held by controversial Illinois Senator Roland Burress.

6. This will be ... little. No, it will be nothing.

When politicians dis a capitol city, they are dissing their peers in the government, not the city.

We hear US presidents and congress-critters make frequent negative references to Washington when we know they are talking about the politics of the federal government.

State governors and legislators in Illinois are always talking about how much they hate Springfield. And everyone knows they are talking about the politics of state government.

Assuming Arizonans are no more stupid than we are -- you know us as the people who elected Gov Rod Blagojevich -- I am fairly certain this statement will amount to nada.

Capital building. They've been fighting like cats and dogs, or infantile children since Napalitano left. Actually, they were doing it while Napolitano was still here but it seemed to get worse with Brewer because of the economic meltdown, and the fact that Brewer is weak.

It doesn't matter much what she was referring to, it's still damning because it shows that she can't take the heat, figuratively. A Governor is supposed to be able to deal with asshole leglislators and their infighting. The funniest part is the legislature is controlled by Republicans and they've been the instigators! The AZ Republic recently chastised the Republican Senate Majority leader in an editorial. She has no control over her own party!

This is rich.

11. In fairness to Brewer, whom I have no use for, she was probably referring to the political climate.
