How would America look without a Conservative Party?
would real change have happened without them?

say for instance the GOP had become extinct and we had a Green/other opposition.

would we be still looking over our shoulder worrying about Iran, Afghanistan and people with long beards and turbans?

would we have made great strides with tackling global warming and become green?

would we have had a single payer healthcare system by now?

would we have a non-biased media?

would we have a great education system

Would we have had the economic meltdown?.....

6. I would argue those clowns are not conservative
They share little ideology with conservatives in other democracies.
These guys are more in line with dictatorships like Saudi Arabia etc.
Frankly, I believe it would be a good thing if we had a true conservative party in this country.
Instead we have a reactionary ideological mass of religious zealots egged on by a bunch of thieves called Wall Street.
And it would be much nicer without them.

9. Are you talking about the Village Idiots
and what would America be like without them and corporatemediaWhores? A freaking paradise, relatively speaking, and great potential for a never ending progress.

10. I think if there was simply a more respectable form of conservatism we might
have a lot of these things too.

13. This is the only reason
I would actually like them to secede and form their own country, but they would probably continue to act like the Taliban and invade their neighbors to try to convert the infidels. Then again, where would they form this country and what would they try to do with the part of the population who actually had brains?

14. It's not the GOP that keeps America right-wing, it's the corporations and other monied interest grou
ps. Right now the Democrats are preventing single-payer. Most of the Democrats in the Senate voted for Bush's wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Both parties in America are conservative parties. Don't tell me you haven't figured that out yet.
