Hot off the press. After bleeding in this poll for the last few weeks, finally a good week for Obama.

1. Amazing what happens when he decides to lead instead of sit it out.

11. When several voices from within his administration give contradictory versions of his position

it isn't leadership. Leadership is when he clearly states his position and makes sure the people who work for him know it. I just chalk it up to a novice mistake. After all, he's only been in office for 7 months. I'm sure that 'message control' isn't something he wasn't expecting to have to deal with.

shit you pick up from the corporatemediawhores.

He's not perfect like some would like it but he's the leader whom we elected and I'm giving him my support to do what he was elected to do.

13. Are you kidding?
Whenever an 'unnamed high ranking official' within his administration, or a named one like Rahm or Sebelius contradict him, it undermines his leadership. If he can't keep the people working for him on message, then he isn't doing a good job as a leader.

Up until his address to Congress, the news cycle went like this, "unnamed Obama administration official says X" followed by "Obama administration denies X" followed by "other Obama administration official says X" followed by "Obama spokesperson denies X."

He wasn't keeping his team on message. That shows a failure of leadership. This doesn't have to do with being perfect, it has to do with the boss's inability to keep his employees from contradicting him.

8. What is he leading on? Capitulation the medical industrial complex?
I think his plan sucks. It is WORSE than what we have now. It won't matter until 2013 at which point millions who need it will be sicker or dead. This is not a plan. It's the bailout of the insurance companies.

10. It's really the difference between giving a big speech and having numerous contradictory
rumors coming from (or being attributed to) his administration. Remember the numerous times where an unnamed source or HHS secretary would say that Obama didn't care about the public option and then later in the day Gibbs or some other spokesperson would counter it? It just leads to confusion on where the President stands which is, in turn, perceived as a lack of leadership.

2. He had two great speeches and the Rethugs made themselves look really
bad last night.
Good for health care reform too, if his approval keeps going back up.

6. Congress needs to move quickly on this one
Don't give the media time to get bored and start repeating what the RW doodoos say on street corners. Obama appears to have impressed some of the doubting lefties which could have caused the DLCers to pause and think??

5. If i'm not mistaken this ALWAYS happens after a Big Speech does it not?
if i recall every time Obama has given a speech his #s go up and then the rollercoaster begins again and he takes a dive with the press jumping all over it. And to go further every other president in the past has epxerienced big jumps after their speeches (including Chimpy).
