CNN is working triple overtime to downplay the bump in support for Obama's HC reform
They keep repeating that the bump in support means nothing because "it was mainly Democrats watching the speech, and they already support HC reform" and "The same bump in support happened when Clinton gave his speech in '93."

I would respond to CNN with one of my usual witty replies, but I think the fact that I can't get through a CNN commercial break without having to watch at least two health insurance/pharma commercials speaks for itself.

1. Except Clinton gave his speech BEFORE the debate about health care happened
and the stupid Harry and Louise ads ran. Obama is doing it after...which means it may stick in people's minds longer.

4. And Obama gave his speech after four of five committees have already produced a bill
The sequencing is indeed totally different.

2. That's because when the dust settles ...
It was a eloquent speech that conveys NOTHING. The Public Option is "do or die" for competition within the Insurance Industry. Otherwise, it's going to gut the middle class.

12. Personal insults are inappropriate. I am only stating my opinion.
If you are taken aback, perhaps there's something that you will not allow yourself to believe? Perhaps it's too painful to realize that most everything our Legislative Branch does, first and foremost benefits the large corporations on Wall Street?

6. The thing that surprised me was the AMA-funded commercial on MSNBC after the speech.
It was telling people about the lies spewed from the right about health care reform and to get the truth at healthcarefactcheck.com

I can't recall the AMA doing a commercial in favor of the Clinton healthcare proposal in 1993.

That is a pretty big difference then the real differential, which is probably in single digits.

10. There were Indies being polled as well.
And there should only be 18% GOP in the country.
