15. McCain said it was disrespectful & that Wilson should apologize immediately.
He didn't mince his words, and his face was stern.

I'd say that shows the power that McCain now has in the Senate, over his fellow Republicans, anyway.

Every one of them should be calling him out on this, if not they are just as guilty as the rude dumbass senator without any manners.

7. His Congressional peers got onto him. McCain made a statement on CNN Larry King about it...
He said it was uncalled for and disrespectful and Wilson should apologize immediately.

I'd say McCain is now the Republican Party's "Lion."

11. This is his lame apology:
This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.

What will the Freepers do now that their latest hero has apologized?

He did not say he was wrong. He will have to try over.

And every Republican must be pressed to denounce him, say President Obama spoke the truth, and demand Wilson resign.

27. He can shout "Liar", but his apology is a cowardly written statement
He should be on TV publicly apologizing. The Wingnuts are not reading his written statement. They are seeing the tape of him shouting "Liar" repeatedly played on television. Unless that is accompanied with tape of him verbally apologizing and admitting he was wrong, his apology is ineffective bullshit.

38. Mark this on your calendars: an actual apology from a wingnut.
Not just an "I'm sorry you were offended," but he took responsibility for his actions, at least for a moment. It would have been nice had he apologized to his Congressional colleagues for the lapse in decorum, but this was an unalloyed apology.

He said the right words, anyway. I'm sure he's only sorry that it's going badly for him, and we can take the rapidity of the apology as a measure of just how much of a fuck-up he realizes he's committed.

40. When he apologizes for his racist remark after Strom Thurmond's daughter was revealed ...
... then maybe we can talk.

http://www.uexpress.com/asiseeit/?uc_full_date=20031219

"...It is the feigned surprise that vexes me most -- the stunned silence, the equivocation, the angry denials that followed the revelation that Strom Thurmond had bedded a black maid and fathered a black child. South Carolina state Sen. John Courson, who huffed, "This is ludicrous," and U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, who called the revelation "unseemly," have a distinct affection for dishonesty."

He's a racist, pure and simple. He was an aide to Strom Thurmond earlier in his career... Strom taught him well.
