His support for the public option was nuanced alright
1) We will be provided with a choice if we cannot afford the costs of health care.

This may be an allusion to 1) A trigger that will ask insurers to lower costs within a few years, or a straight, immediate public option.

2) The impact of the public option should not be exaggerated by the left or right.
Doesn't sound very uplifting to me.

3) We should be open to other ideas.

Didn't he say in July that a public option "must" be in the final bill?

2. Hartmann said today that the PO will not be available
if you get insurance from your work. So the profiteers will gouge us w/ institutional insurance because we're stuck with their "product"

4. Any comments on the points mentioned above?

Or would you rather dodge the issue and imagine that the passing of a public option is imminent?

5. Are you not listening to the speech?

He's right - there's a lot more involved than just a public option. Also, his support for it was pretty unambiguous.
