Was the school speech a rope-a-dope?
The rabid right slobbered on President Obama's address to the children. For over a week now, the dominant story has been Obama talking(gasp!) to children. Obama acknowledged children and the challenges the face. He spoke about how to face the challenges. He gave kids recognition and legitimacy, treating them like they matter. For a large segment of America's youth, he gave them an image of a positive role model that looked like them. He spoke to many kids who were likely on the edge of dropping out.

The focus of the inane-insane right has been this event. Tomorrow the President stops the show with an address to the House and the Senate, where he will be knocking their heads together for all to see.

Yet, the rabid right missed the opportunity to drum against it. It is further evidence of the utter lack of ideas on right. They cannot win on policy. All they have is hopes for perpetual distraction with inane shit. They are only fooling the minority of their minority. The Rational Majority, on all sides, sees right through them. They are treading water and it is time to throw them an anchor.

1. I think it was a calculated brilliant move
for Obama and his staff... not only have we identified the rabid wing nuts but he's managed to make them look like complete idiots.

4. I think most people saw it for what it was...
A back-to-school pep talk from a brilliant orator! The kids seemed to have loved it... The President is talking TO them...

Let the Reich crow, they are a fringe group with no national support... They are becoming a cult...

5. It sure as hell got Pawlenty to shoot himself in the foot
Now Pawlenty, who has tried to paint himself as a moderate, can be painted as a mouth breathing conspiracy theorizing, whackadoodle, extremist.

8. He just plays a moderate on TV.
He's a right winger with an "awe shucks" persona. Minnesota's own little dictator.

I wish he would do what Palin did now that he has announced he's not running for governor again.

7. Apparently everything is a rope-a-dope
I heard Obama's socks didn't match today. Rope-a-dope?

9. I call it a diversionary tactic, and a brilliant one. They used up all their energy
and airtime frothing at the mouth about Obama indoctrinating kids, and lost view of the REAL policy speech tomorrow. Now they only have 24 hours to get worked up about it - not enough time to poison all the news outlets.

10. Its not chess. It is what it is...
Obama is black so the right-wingers hate him. Obama is not very liberal, so he appears moderate when speaking to sane people.

11. Whether it was planned to Rope some Dopes
or not..it certainly did and the Cosmic timing was brilliant.

As usual the cons overkilled the stupid hate and they're left with their tongues hanging out after today's speech on Education by the President.:silly::silly:

Why would anyone trust them on the Health Care of our Nation when they don't want the kids to hear the President talk about Education and their future?

Like Gibbs said.. "it's a sad state of affairs that many in this country politically would rather start an 'Animal House' food fight rather than inspire kids to stay in school."

The Republicans are just in super freak out mode right now.
