President Obama Is WRONG Again! Our Healthcare System Is NOT Too Expensive!
Edited on Tue Sep-08-09 11:20 AM by TomCADem
WE JUST AREN'T GETTING OUR MONIES WORTH!

First, we pay a lot for our healthcare system on a per capita basis:

<>

As well as based on a percentage of our GDP:

<>

Now, President Obama argues that this means that our health care system is too expensive! Tsk, tsk, tsk...He is thinking like a Democratic, liberal, or socialist, take your pick.

The real problem is that we just aren’t getting our monies worth! If we are going to have the most expensive health care system in the world, then we should be getting gold plated service!

So, lets stop bitching about the price of health care, and focus on reform that delivers the bling bling health care that we pay for.

First, we should demand a valet parking at our clinics and hospitals!

<>

Second, hospital intake should be renamed concierge services, and along with admitting us to the hospital, they should also secure tickets to hard to get into concerts and sporting events.

Third, health care providers should throw in complimentary cosmetic enhancements. Where is my silicon six pack?

<>

[]Fourth, I want a pony. For the close to $7,000 per capita that each American pays for our health care, they ought to throw in a pony,

<http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vFikbDHcTLQ/SYIwvNBzoyI/AAAAAAAABjo/017T2a5dksg/s400/tony+pony.jpg>

Finally, our life expectancy for the price we pay is unacceptable! We pay twice as much as the next country. For this price, I want to live forever! That’s right, for the prices we pay, I frickkin demand to be immortal.

<>

So, fellow Americans, it is time to stop whining about how expensive our health care system is. Rather, we should focus on getting our monies worth!

So, President Obama, its time to be bold! Where’s the change you promised!

;)

1. No, not only are we not getting our money's worth, it is also too expensive.
So much of it goes to corporate profit and other waste -- that could be going to something else, including social spending, healthcare or otherwise.

We could get better healthcare for far less -- as demonstrated by most other industrialized countries.

The increase in healthcare costs is way too rapid, taking up more and more of our resources. We ahve to stop that explosive growth.

11. How So? I am just saying if we pay twice as much, shouldn't we live twice as long?
Edited on Tue Sep-08-09 08:11 PM by TomCADem
What is wrong with that? Rather than demand lower health care costs, we should demand our monies worth! We shouldn't simply have a life expectancy that is the same as the next county. Instead, we should live twice as long, since we pay twice as much. Afterall, don't you think $7,000 per capita would be money well spent if Americans had a life expectancy of about 140 years?

We should just demand our monies worth! If we pay twice as much as the next country, we should recieve twice the results!

;)

4. Actually, at the hospital where my Mom goes, Edwards, they do have valet parking.
Hardwood floors, this giant aquarium...

But it's ridiculously expensive. It's a good thing she has insurance.

9. We have valet parking in Canada
...but I think it's so they can cram more cars in the parking lot than anything else.
