TPM Update: Baucus plan includes provision for 'creation of private health care co-ops'
Edited on Mon Sep-07-09 11:07 AM by flpoljunkie
Later update: An earlier version of this post reported that the Baucus plan would create neither a public option nor private health care co-ops, but, http://cnnwire.blogs.cnn.com/2009/09/07/source-key-senate-committee-plan-dumps-public-option/ it would allow for the creation of private health care co-ops.

1. private health care co-ops = money to private insurance companies

I don't want Obama or anybody else to say ever again about how hard Baucus has worked on health care ....
he has worked hard all right, very hard indeed ... in trying to protect the insurance industry.

He has been given millions by the insurance companies, big Pharam, and the for profit health care industry ...
also he picked his "gang of six" to protect the status quo.

Grassley, Snowe, Enzi, Conrad, Nelson, and Baucus (I think) everyone committed to stop the public option.

2. Baucus is an idiot:
Sept. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus is proposing a health-care overhaul that will cost less than $900 billion over 10 years and establish non-profit insurance cooperatives to extend coverage to the uninsured, part of a final effort to attract Republican support.
