There are a huge number of posts about Sen. Ted Kennedy on this board, and although this one may be repetitive and may echo many others I just had to get this off my chest.
He was, in my opinion, a champion for the disadvantaged, the underdogs of society, who roared like a mama lion to protect those who needed it most.
Certainly he had his moments of shame and weakness, but he soldiered on, continued the fight for what was right and ultimately, at least in my opinion, served as an example of a true warrior for those who needed it most.
He was at the same time a vision of weakness and strength, a reminder to us all that although we may not be perfect we can continue to argue and battle for the good of our nation no matter what our scars or foibles.
A Greek tragedy could not begin to explain what he went through as the rock of his family when things turned very tragic indeed. But he hung in there, fought on, never surrendered to circumstances that would have crippled most men emotionally. He was the very definition of strength and fortitude in my opinion and it may be a long time before we witness courage of such magnitude again.
May God bless him and his family.
