Not to be ghoulish,,,,,but rev up the replacement arguments,
Kennedy had apparently pushed the idea to meme that He wanted a caretaker to replace him.

There are lots of name being floated. but given that she has said in the past that she wanted to serve but had no desire to campaign for Her other uncle's seat (Bobby's seat was Hillary;s seat). Caroline might be the logical choice, I thought the notion was ludicrous before because it was presumptuous for her to ask for something that she did not have a rightful claim to,

This is different, It was Daddy's seat before it was her Uncle's seat. Nepotism has a long tradition when a death occurs. This seems appropriate now.

1. Perky, Caroline is not from MA

She cannot legally take her uncle's seat.

The only Kennedy left that legally resides in MA is Joe, and he already said he doesn't want it.

2. Bobby was not from New York either.
There would be minimal objection to her as a caretaker in Massachusetts.

3. Please read the other threads on this topic. It has been explored
and we know how people in Mass have ONLY people from out-of-state qualified to serve as interim...there is no one in Mass who is qualified.

RIGHT!!!!

Robert F Kennedy moved to NY state in order to run for Senator, after serving his brother and Johnson as AG.

4. This is not a monarchy. she has NO right on any seat. They should be earned.

This said, should the law be changed the way Kennedy wanted it, this would be an appointment for only 5 months anyway, and chosen by Deval Patrick for the good of the people of MA.

5. "Nepotism has a long tradition when a death occurs. This seems appropriate now."
Tradition has little to no value. Something traditional may have value, but this value is separate from the quality of tradition.
