Bush Faces Global Critics at U.N. This Week
By Steve Holland

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two years after he made a case against Iraq over unconventional weapons that were never found, President Bush faces global critics at the United Nations this week to argue it is essential that war-ravaged Iraq become a stable democracy.

Bush makes his annual trek to New York to speak to the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday. His remarks are likely to be seen in an election-year context, at a time of rising casualties in Iraq, fears of civil war and questions about whether national elections can be held in January as scheduled.

Before getting to New York, Bush will attend a campaign rally on Monday in Derry, New Hampshire, where Bush campaign officials said he will step up attacks on Democratic challenger John Kerry's Iraq policy, taking advantage of what the campaign calls Kerry's shifting positions.

Campaign officials said Bush would react to comments made last week by a Kerry military adviser, retired Adm. William Crowe, in which Crowe reportedly blasted Bush over Iraq and said the United States must reconsider its military efforts there.

6. HAH!
How will the press spin it to make him look good?

Blitzer: "He stood his ground; stated his case, even in front of a hostile audience."
Reality: He didn't cry for Mama Dick and poop on himself.

3. This should be good; well, bad, actually... You know what I mean!
He certainly won't have an audience of rapturous lap-dogs. And Annan has already set the stage for him!

To be a fly on the wall...

4. I wish it would turn into something like
an address to Parliment where they heckle and groan. Would be a real treat.

5. Can you imagine?
The U.N. audience sitting there.

Bush enters and steps to the podium.

No clapping.

The entire audience turns their backs.'

Awckward silence, as Bush delivers his speech to no reaction.

:D

11. They couldn't if I was one of them!
 Then again, it might be just as effective to translate his words verbatum. He's bound to fuck it up!

8. UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE DECADE:
But there are likely to be some skeptics in the U.N. audience. U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said last week he believes the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq was a violation of international law.

"Likely" to be some skeptics?

9. Is he going to look all shrunken and puny like a little kid in that huge
chair, like he did last time when he was waiting to go in. THAT was HILARIOUS! He was sooooooo uncomfortable. I loved it!
