Strategy Idea
Tell the right wing protesters they are being used and manipulated by GOP politicians and health care corporations. They are all easily appealed to by their sense of aggrieved victimhood. Point out that they are being victimized, not by the government, but by those who profit from health care. They are being manipulated by appeals to their fears. Right now they feel victimized by the government but they should be told who is really victimizing them. This is the kind of argument they understand, since it has been working for years against them by the corporatists and GOP strategists.

1. I tried that and It didn't work
They were insulted (shocking, huh?) that I would say they could be manipulated. In fact, they claim the grassroots and passions of their movement are real, and that we are the ones being duped.

I tried pointing out that while the passions may be real, the "facts" behind them are all wrong.

I'm starting to think there is no cure for most birther/freeper types. Their cluelessness makes facts bounce off them like toy arrows off a rhino's hide.

2. Be the grown-up in the room
Respect the public.
speak to them openly and honestly about whats being proposed and what policy is in place right now.
go on TV and make your case better than the other guys. Repeat it often and trust the nation will hear you.
Act like a grown-up and treat the public like grown ups. You will win respect, even if you lose.

Don't manipulate the public like the OP suggests, it would backfire and you'd end up hurting yourself more.

3. Tell them to look up the word "gullible" in the dictionary...
...and they'll find their picture there.

7. It's myth that reform will force you out of your current insurance plan
or force you to change doctors... http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/3

5. the only issue i see with helping RWer nutjobs to understand
they are being played is that they would join our fight with us, and continue to use the same ignorant hate-filled tactics, and end up blowing up an insurance company building or some other stupid shit.

sometimes the help you want isn't always the help you need.

i prefer they continue to parade their dumb asses all over the news, and eat each other alive, systematically dismantling their own "cause".
