Poll question: Do you feel better about the health care bill after President Obama's town hall yesterday?
Edited on Wed Aug-12-09 04:02 PM by TheCoxwain
After days of non-stop nonsense on tv about loony and angry hacks .... that meeting was as refreshing as first sip of cold beer after hike through a desert ...

How much better do you feel about the state of the health care bill?

1. I feel better about it after my congresswoman's town hall yesterday (Jackie Speier)
i'm disappointed it's not single payer, that the public option has been so weakened and that it will not take full effect until 2013. that's a lot of disappointment to handle.

but as it stands now, without these bills, we won't have universal health care, we won't end the mistreatment of those with preexisting conditions and we will still experience people going bankrupt because of lack of health care coverage.

however with the house bill, these things will end and soon.

so i feel better in that respect.

if we had no filibuster and 50% support for the things i want, i think we could get it. i'm not sure we can get more now. i'm not giving up on what i want, but i'm not bailing out on this either.

2. How much time was spent...
On the TV analysing Health Reform vs talking about Guns? That should tell you something about whether
his town hall accomplished anything.

5. Bahh
It's inevitable we get health care done, if not now it can't be too long.

4. We'll see...
We don't even know what the senate will come up with.

Personally I would like to hear more about the "non profit coop" idea that got a little bipartisan press this week.

As an employer who pays 100% health care for employees I'm not very keen on the house bill as it stands, and I've read it.
