I believe Obama's next prime time address should be an Oval Office address
Edited on Mon Aug-10-09 02:12 PM by bluestateguy
An Oval Office address on health care as the vote nears in the Congress.

He has yet to give an Oval Office address, much less during prime time. Typically these addresses are only 10-15 minutes, so it would be hard for the broadcast networks to say no. An Oval Office address cannot be hijacked by mousy reporters looking to advance their careers and change the subject (Yeah, that means you Lynn Sweet).

on edit: Ronald Reagan did this on the eve of the Congress' vote on his 1981 tax cuts.

1. TOTALLY agree.
Been relaxing in the pool (unemployed) and pondering this. We are going to lose this battle to crap, if we haven't already done so.

The President needs to squelch the lies that have been spread around. Prime time. Oval office.

That is all...

2. Not only that... subliminally slap the faces of the birthers by showing him in the Oval Office...
...hopefully with family pictures on the desk.

3. That idea has been floating around the big time writers' pens for a little bit now...
Might be a good idea. Might not.

5. in this day and age they'll probably have a republican offering a rebuttal
right after he's finished in an effort to be "fair and balanced."

6. Could he do a surprise one? To throw them off guard? That'd be great.
