Side by side summary of HELP and House health care bills
The Kaiser Family Foundation produced these great, detailed summaries of both bills including any changes that were made in during the recent markup.

Ok I'll go first, one best provisions has to with medical loss ratio which is the amount of premium dollars spent on medical care. Under the house bill they would have to spend 85% or refund their customers the difference should spend less than that during a given year. Most insurers today are between 75% and 80% today
From PNHP

Medical-loss ratios for 2005 (Source: Company 10-K, year-end filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission):

76.9% - Aetna
82.3% - Cigna
83.9% - Health Net
83.2% - Humana
78.6% - UnitedHealth Group
80.6% - WellPoint

4. recing this b/c it's important. I'm reading and looking for calculator.
I need to get the percentages in order before I make a decision but I'm leaning House because it has more regs for each provision---and that is important.

6. Remember that the all relevant committees in the House have weighed in
the Senate Finance Committee thanks to Max Baucus' foot dragging hasn't added it portions to the HELP bill which why it less in depth in some areas.
