3. Some want him chained to his desk.....
So I guess that at least making it to Mexico is better than nothing!
Wonder if he'll go outside at all, other than when getting on a plane?

5. Thanks for these photos depicting
the President's busy schedule.

Carlos Pascual..

This is from April when he was a designate but I thought it was interesting.

<snip>>

Why He Matters

Pascual is a leading U.S. expert on crisis. The former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine has spent his career studying conflict management, failed states and economic development.

But his research may be a political liability if he assumes the delicate post of U.S. ambassador to Mexico. The nomination has set off a wave of protests from Mexican officials, who say it would signal that the Obama administration believes Mexico, which is in the throes of a bloody drug war, is in danger of collapse. Though Director of National Intelligence Adm. Dennis Blair told reporters “Mexico is in no danger of becoming a failed state”Landler, Mark, “Clinton Reassures Mexico About Its Image,” New York Times, March 26, 2009(1)Landler, Mark, “Clinton Reassures Mexico About Its Image,” New York Times, March 26, 2009 (he even repeated the phrase twice for emphasis), some have charged that the appointment of Pascual suggests otherwise.Narconews web site (2)Narconews web site

Mexico approved Pascual's nomination earlier this month. He now faces Senate confirmation."Mexico Okays U.S. Ambassador Set to Aid in Drug War," Reuters, April 20, 2009(3)"Mexico Okays U.S. Ambassador Set to Aid in Drug War," Reuters, April 20, 2009"
