On Countdown tonight
Olbermann made a reference to the film "A face in the Crowd". He compared the film to what is happening today with the right wing hate radio and television. The film is actually quite prophetic. It is about a man who leads his listeners, much like limbaugh. During the climax, he is caught saying, "This whole country's just like my flock of sheep. Rednecks, crackers, hillbillies, housefraus, shut-ins, peabeggars(?). Everybody's just got to jump when somebody else blows the whistle. ...Only they're more stupid than I am, so I gotta think for 'em." I imagine limbaugh thinks much the same.

1. Terrific movie with terrific performances. Every time I see Andy Griffith on
a Mayberry show rerun, I think of him in 'A Face in the Crowd.'

2. That is the difference between authoritarians and liberals.
Authoritarians want to tell people what to think. Liberals share what they think and ask others to think on it, they can disagree or agree.

And liberals look for an argument to change there mind if they are wrong, always knowing they can learn more. Authoritarians want to distract and not talk about the issue.

What is wrong with the public option?

Here is the funny thing, I know the real arguments against the public option. But few people will say them in public because most people would not agree with them.

That is why they can not discuss the issue, because those against the public option do not support most people, they support a few people, and if a group supports only a few people, they have to lie and distract when talking to most people.
