The narrative: KERRY IS A CLOSER
If there's one thing we know about the media whores, it's that they're lazy. They just take whatever spin is easiest and broadcast it ad nauseam. Doesn't matter if it's true or not; if it's plausible, and rebroadcast over and over again, people will believe it: 'Gore is a liar,' 'Bush is likable,' 'Clinton is corrupt,' whatever.

What the media like is a good, salable, easily packaged story. And this time, we've got the winning one! The 'Kerry is a closer' idea is already out there, and it's accepted by the media whores, so they won't fight it!

So we've got the winning narrative out there: Kerry is a closer.

  • It's a come-from-behind story, so it has the 'root for the underdog' factor. This is why the polls shouldn't worry us--they play into the narrative!
  • It shows toughness--'Kerry's a real fighter.'
  • It parallels the 1992 election, and the media just love to compare President Bush with his dimwitted McCowboy son.

So don't worry! Just keep the 'Kerry is a closer' idea out there in the public consciousness, and the media will actually help us do our job!
