4. Who needs finesse,
when we have Flynt! :patriot:

He can just blackmail everybody,
and they won't have shit to say about it.

We'll have our own Prez. J. Edgar Hoover! :bounce:

3. Frenchie - you're taking the Larry Flynt thing way too seriously
I'm quite sure he wants Obama to succeed, most of us want Obama to succed - no one wants a Republican takeover in 2012. We just all have different and variant views on how he gets there.

7. With people who want you to succeed like that......
Who needs opponents?

Sounds to me like Flynt believes Obama to be nothing more than a piece of shit.

You have failed to keep many campaign promises.
You’ve ignored civil-liberty violations such as warrantless wiretapping.
You passed a stimulus package that is obviously full of pork for Democrats.

You handed over billions more in taxpayer dollars to crooked bankers.

You listened to the very people who created our economic meltdown, the Mutt and Jeff team of Larry Summers and Tim Geithner.

You’ve let the insurance lobbyists hijack health-care reform to the detriment of every man, woman, and child in America.

Maybe when Flynt's President, he can tell the entire corporate media to go fuck itself....
cause that guy has balls! He's so impressive!

13. he's obviously to the left of Obama
and probably thinks Obama's instincts are more liberal than his actions, so he is expressing his right as a citizen and pushing at his President. Historically, this is what our country does; it has a policy debate and the POTUS is often at the center of the storm. Obama is not the first, nor will he be the last, to be criticized and pushed by members of his own party.

26. Yeah...I think the over the top criticism from all sides
was born the day Obama took office.

Or else, tell me what President got it from all of the below, six months in?

the Racists eminating from all over the place
those who expected him to have solved all of the nation's problems by now, despite 8 years of ruthless incompetency.
A bought and paid for corporate media parroting GOP points as often as possible.
A minority party of No and their big ass microphones (handed to them by the media).
the bungling "scared of the media" congress.
The easily manipulated aka, a nation of selfish ill-informed scared-ass cowards and whiners.
Those who actually believed that Obama was gonna be a socialist.
As well as those who only need an excuse to pounce on this President for anything and everything he does that they dislike, while never acknowledging what he has done right, aka, PUMA.

28. If I remember, Bill Clinton got it from all sides beginning, literally, the day he took office
and the media, by and large, was far worse with him than with Obama.

And my own humble opinion is that overall, Obama is doing a better job than Clinton did - this far into his Presidency.

31. Like I said, I didn't have to hear our side 24/7....
cause there was no MSNBC or Fox....

What is strange, is just like now, when the Clintons were doing health Care, no one stood up for them....and so we ended up not getting shit.

It wasn't until Bill got caught with his pants down that everyone came to the rescue.
That's what so stupid.

22. On the off-chance I ever get to be President myself, I hope big balls
don't turn out to be a necessary ingredient to one's success!

For what it's worth, I take Flynt's criticisms with a grain of salt--clearly, anyone can argue that there is a wish list here on the left that Santa Obama hasn't brung us. However, it is only August, not December. And there are a whole lot of characters who have to be "good" before we get some of what's on that list. Sadly, as a Constitutional scholar, President Obama seems to actually believe a lot of the separation of powers, checks and balances stuff that means he needs to have Congress on his side to make stuff happen. And he curiously thinks it has to stand up to a judge if need be.

(Case in point--his Administration has taken utter Bush-era crap to the courts re: detainees and their rights. These cases are losers, and, predictably, they lose and I suspect will continue to lose. And I kind of have the feeling that's "accidentally on purpose" to set precedents, since the former Admin and DOJ boldly went where angels would have feared to tread. This President wants to draw the lines clearly.)

I think most of us knew we were voting for a man, not a miracle-worker, and respect that some things will take time. While I think stuff like undoing DADT should be penstroke-simple, I understand why health-care is really the business of congress (who, by the by, can pass something inadequate and improve it later--no? I'd like to see them pass somethig reasonable, and then go back and perfect it if they can.) He understands the score:

He has a lot on his plate , but is ready to be accused of "doing too much". He inherited not just a poor economy, but a business culture that is perversely failure-pointed, and a media that likes to build heroes up just to smack them down. When he speaks honestly, which is his wont (recall the Democratic primary debates? when he was asked--"What is your major weakness?" he said he had a messy desk. Clinton said something like "I try too hard" and Edwards said "I care too much." If he hadn't gone first, he'd have realized it was one of *those* kind of questions. But *I* like him for stuff like that. Ditto his saying the Cambridge cops were stupid. Honest answer--what he actually thought) he gets sometimes hammered.

He's not going to do everything at once. I do like that he can do more than one thing at a time, and so far has, and I think he can get more done than we'd have business to expect from some other possible candidate. So while I hear what Flynt is saying, really, I still have a lot of hope about Obama. With all he has to do, we haven't seen the best of him yet, and I think we will end up pretty cool with what he brings to the table. The doable. The choices that are forward-looking. It's about brains, not balls.

27. Perhaps that's why Bush was in two terms....
all he did was to tell everyone to shut the fuck up,
and then he just did what he wanted....and his
lockstep congress would just do his bidding.

That takes Balls, even if it doesn't do anything but polarizes the entire country
....or maybe even the world.

he stated clearly that it was all Obama's fault.

Cause see, if Flynt could even get to become President,

President has pretty much gotten what he wanted to date....
so I'm not sure where you get the capitulation talk from....
