Kerry's in control, the only time Bush is ahead is when Kerry is below the radar. All we need is two weeks of good exposure before the election and it's ours.

Everyone has been talking about how Kerry had a terrible August due to his campaign being in disarray. But I think Tucker Carlson - with whom I almost never agree - had it right when he said the other day that the presidential polls are tracking the public's views of the war in Iraq. When the public is less worried about the war, Bush goes up in the polls. And the opposite holds true as well.

In August and early September, we had the Olympics, Swift Boats, the Republican National Convention and hurricanes. Iraq fell way down the list on stories of importance to the mainstream media. Now that the spriraling downward events in Iraq (plus just less competition from other stories) is making Iraq more prominent in the news, we're starting to see Bush stumble again. I presume the polls for Kerry will start to look like the July numbers again within a week or so.
