Great googly moogly! I just got goosebumps reading this.
Kerry's supporters don't believe the race is over, particularly not after Monday's speech. Kerry's attitude was more tough, more mocking of Bush than he has been in the past: "If his purpose was to confuse and mislead the American people, he succeeded." The speech was received here as the beginning of Kerry's Incredible Hulk moment, when, angry and provoked, he finally unleashes his inner demon.

I was talking Zappa. Mojo uses it somewhere on Frenzy. I think the song is "Where the Hell's My Money?" which might make a good campaign song for K/E.

24. "But how was I to know that the wreckage of my plane ..."
Good God! Has it been that long ago? Gotta love this song.

Stranded In The Jungle
by The Cadets
1956

I crashed in the jungle tryin to keep a date
With my girl who was back in the States
I was stranded in the jungle afraid and alone
Trying to find a way to get a message back home
But how was I to know that the wreckage of my plane
Had been found by my friend who had my girl back in Lover's Lane?

Meanwhile, back in the States...

Chorus:
Baby, baby, let's make romance
You know, your old-time lover hasn't got a chance
He's stranded in the jungle, sad as he can be
So, come on pretty baby, just you and me

Meanwhile, back in the jungle...

The boys in the jungle had me on the run
When somethin' heavy hit me like an atom bomb
After I woke up and my head began to clear
I had a strange feeling I was part of cooking gear
I smelled something cooking and I looked to see
That's when I found out they was-a cooking me!

Great goo-ga-moo-ga! Lemme outta here!

Meanwhile, back in the States...

Baby, baby, let's make romance
You know your old-time lover hasn't got a chance
He's stranded in the jungle, mad as he can be
So come on pretty baby, just you and me

Meanwhile, back in the jungle...

I jumped out the pot and I finally got away
Frantic and worried 'bout what my baby would say
So I jumped in the ocean and I started to swim
But my chances of survival were gettin mighty slim

So I thumbed down a whale who was headin' my way
And I reached the States in 'bout half a day
When I got to Lover's Lane I was almost dead,
But my soul was strong, and this is what I said

Chorus:
Baby, baby, the man is no good
Oh baby baby, you should have understood
You can always trust me as long as you please
So come back pretty baby where you used to be
'Cause I love you

FADES

'Cause I love you
'Cause I love you

3. I am still fighting. I will . Kerry is honorable and
we are just not used to dealing with so much evil at one time.
It is beyond our civility and our way of thinking. That is why there is so much defeatism but maybe people are using reverse psychology. Lulling the freepers into a false sense of security and then BANG hit the polls and hit them hard for Kerry.

14. I've always known Kerry was going to be the next president
I knew it about a year and a half ago when I watched him give a speech, and, frankly, I didn't even like him all that much, but I knew in my clairvoyant gut that he was going to be president. I really didn't understand how that could be at the time because right after that Dean became the front-runner.

And now here ya go.

Kerry has known damn well that it's the last month of the campaign that counts. And that to peak too soon is a big mistake. He's been like a horse who knows he can beat the other horses in the last quarter mile. All he has to do is turn it on.

15. Tks WiPitt..A Most Encouraging Post..Many More to Come..
And post #13, Zulchzulu...Nice JK Hulk!

I do hope, with this latest speech, Kerry feels the exhilaration of his followers. I hope he and John Edwards stand together tomorrow and realize that THIS is what we've all been waiting for. THIS is what we expect of our chosen candidates. Fight as we have been fighting. Stand up on our behalf and lead with our passion and love of our Country. Carry tonights momentum louder and stronger each day until the White House and this Government is ours once again. Call a Lie a Lie. Be the great leaders you are. We have chosen YOU Senators Kerry and Edwards.
We have never believed the lies of Bush/Cheney. We have always known the truth, and have proved as much all along. Proudly tell the world the TRUTH about George W Bush..and tell it as loudly as we all have. May the doors of the White House soon open wide and welcome John Kerry and John Edwards.

Thanks, Blaze

18. Above all else, Kerry is a winner
Kerry has always proven wrong those who have left him for dead. The way the media savages Kerry, one would think the man never won a contested election. But the fact is, John Kerry throughout his life has repeatedly defied political conventional wisdom. Over and over he has won elections which have left the pundits scratching their heads, as they will be doing yet again this November 3rd.

23. Over?
"Kerry's supporters don't believe the race is over, particularly not after Monday's speech."

In an article about one of Kerry's successes in this race, they suggest that other people might think "its over". I know I haven't voted yet. We have a lot of time before the election. Events in the days leading up to the election could cause a great swing. Heck, the weather on election day might have an affect on the outcome. I wish they would quit using these kinds of terms when talking about important matters like this.

25. Am I the only one who picked up on the sarcasm....What a title for an
article! I guess WaPo is bringing in some new writers to give Steno Sue and Howie Kurtz a hand. Maybe Howie's wife Sherri loaned them Hanna.

The "air head" Hanna who wrote this article sounds to me like she gives back hand slap to Kerry's great speech. Instead of
pointing out what was said in the speech which energizes us Kerry supporters...this "air head" fluffs the article with idiot interviews on the street and makes it sound like it belongs in an "Around the Town" column one would see in a small town newspaper..

Goosebumps indeed....JMHO...

27. The race is joined! NBC/WSJ poll to be released soon shows tight race.
There's the fact that two of America's leading news organizations (who poll together) are about to release some horserace numbers that are going to suggest a tight race and tease out the "Kerry closes the gap with momentum" storyline for which the press hungers. (As Joe Lockhart would say, EVERYONE in Washington knows about these poll numbers … ..)

____________

I read somewhere that this poll with be the NBC/WSJ poll.

You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

From the Big, Left, Outside blog... presciently written on June 12, 2003.

"To bring out the better Kerry, here’s what I learned long ago: You have to get him mad. I used to be good at that, but I’ve been busy making others mad in recent years.

Here’s the key: To wake Kerry up, you have to piss him off. You have to put his back up against the wall and slam into him with everything you’ve got to awaken his mutant powers. And then the real John Kerry stands up: he’s golden in those moments: American politics’ version of the Incredible Hulk. The American political highway is littered with the higher political aspirations of former giants (Jim Shannon, Ed Markey, Ray Shamie, Bill Weld, and a dozen or so others you probably haven’t heard of) slain by Kerry when he was awake.

The Hulk can beat Bush.

Dr. Bruce Banner cannot."
