Gotta give credit where credit is due. Scarborough is on the right side concerning Gates case
He basically said this, paraphrasing:

"If that was me answering the door, and I told the officer it was my home and that I just had trouble getting the door open, the officer would've said goodbye and left. Especially after I showed ID. This incident happened because Gates is black."

I disagree with Scarborough 95% of the time... and he's going to take it on the chin by conservatives for this... but he's on the correct side in this case.

He basically said the same thing yesterday too. Video here:

Credit where credit is due. You're right on this one, Joe.

1. There's little doubt that Gates' race contributed to this situation

And that doesn't mean that Crowley IS "a racist," or whether Reggie Lewis was one of his many "black friends," so to speak.

4. Here we go again with this constant meme.
Whites can say and do racist things but but but that doesn't mean they're racist.

Constant meme.

5. Not to mention the institutional issues
People won't even go there. Absolutely refuse to acknowledge it in any way shape or form.

6. The same thing happened to a former neighbor or mine.
He was locked out of his house so he tried to get in through his back patio (it was like 11PM). Somebody called the police as it looked like somebody was breaking in (no problem there IMO). When the police came, he showed his ID after being asked to stand against the wall, etc. They were about to leave when a police sergeant showed up and made him get on the ground to frisk him again, etc. and put his foot on his neck. Then after he started arguing with the cop they were going to take him to jail. His wife, who is a prominent attorney, showed who up and the cop decided he better leave it alone. Oh my neighbor is black (you might have guessed) and a minister. I know flat out if the same thing happened to me, it would have been about a 5 minute episode and ended with me saying ok thanks for coming to have a look, sorry you had to waste your time.
