Will He Exceed Expectations Yet Again With His Speech Tonight?
About four or five speeches ago, I almost stopped watching his speeches thinking that I'd heard it all.

Yet every time, I've been impressed.

I hope he continues that tonight. I don't know how he will, but I've got a feeling that he will do it again.

I smell victory in the air. Sure, there will be somethings about healthcare that will piss everybody off one way or another. But I still think that it's going to get done, no matter how hard the naysayers try to stop it.

2. The NAACP speech was one of the greats of all time, IMO.

3. I hope it goes well.
I hate to see the Repugs have any reason to crow. What a disgusting group. I can't even think of a bigger group of liars in any area of our lives. They pound and pound and pound to see how many roadblocks they can throw in Obama's path. To heck with the country or its citizens. Let's make sure a Dem doesn't succeed.

They are so jealous, they can't stand it.

Go, Obama!

4. maybe. but you can be sure he won't hit media's expectations
they have already written up their post speech analysis. "He seems desperate." "This is not anything new. What the American people need is assurances." It will be stupid. Which is why I don't have cable or satellite. No TV for me except DVD's. And snippets of MSNBC or Daily Show/Colbert Report online.

5. It will be perfect
A speech for the ages. We should make his speeches required to be memorized in schools - they are that good, that eloquent.

15. Something tells me the louder they cry and the more cackle
they put up, ... they always make it seem like he's losing something.

But then the sky opens up, the celestrial choir starts to sing ... LOL

The more they knock him, the more he succeeds.

It will take some time, but I can't wait for the day when the analysts have to agree that he and Congress avoided an absolute disaster with the stimulus money.

On the one hand they keep saying it's not doing anything, while on the other they say only 5% of it has been used, and then on the third hand they say it won't take effect until 2011, etc. etc. etc.

16. I think we're going to see him utilize the bully pulpit for the first time.
Edited on Wed Jul-22-09 03:27 PM by FatDave
I wonder if he'll directly say "call your congressperson"? I think he should. Course, I also think he should declare that the republicans missed their chance at bipartisanship and he should call their anti-reform campaign lies. Not misleading, or disinformation, but lies. I'd like to see him seriously fuck up the republicans tonight, but I don't think he will.

(edit: "pulpit", not "pulpt")

17. I just know he's got something up his sleeve.
He certainly baited them into saying stupid things.

What really gets me is that they have no plan. All they do is say "we got to stop him", "I hope he fails", "We can break him."

20. Obama never disappoints with speeches
I could listen to him all day, every day. It's the actions that follow that haven't always been as impressive.
