You can personally pay my health care bills - out of your own pocket!

It annoys me that the Republicans are using people's lives as a POLITICAL FOOTBALL!

What we need are a few TV ads. challenging those who are against healthcare reform (against single payer system). Take the business out of healthcare.

People are dying because they don't get proper access to healthcare. The GOP prefer people to go to the ER which costs the nation millions. If these people had access to preventative care and ordinary primary care by a PCP then it wouldn't get to this stage.

that's my little vent for this morning!

1. Just a note: It's illegal to tax people by political party affiliation.
If you meant to say "wealthy people," don't assume they're all Republicans. There are plenty of wealthy Democrats.

An attitude where you expect others to pay for your needs is just wrong, unless there is some reason that you don't have health care now. Then it's ALL of us, the taxpayers, that get together to provide for that. That's what we're talking about.

3. I'm not sure that the OP was being literal
I think they are sick of the Repuke grandstanding on the issue without offering any viable alternatives. I'm pretty f****g pissed at them right now too. Also, in regards to wealthy Democrats, I don't think that many of them are quite as unwilling to share their wealth with the rest of us as most wealthy Republicans are- of course I could be wrong about that but Warren Buffett, George Soros, and Bill Clinton at least seem that way. I sure haven't heard a lot of wealthy Republicans step up to the plate and invite anybody to tax them more.

2. All they are concerned about it is getting back in power
DeMint seems to think that stopping any kind of health care reform will severely damage Obama. I'm sure that he is not alone in that sentiment. *sigh* Most of them can't seem to think past their own political goals.

7. Yup Yup
I just hope people don't lose sight of that en masse-outside of DU. Otherwise, we may be in for more years of Republican Hell because Obama hasn't been able to fix things enough fast enough.

6. Love the Republicans and their "everyone has access to health care
because they can go to the ER" spiel. Where's the ER that performs surgery and administers chemotherapy? Where's the ER that does routine Pap smears and breast exams? Where's the ER that removes an appendix or treats IBS? It drives me nuts. Uninsured/underinsured people only have access to medical care if they're willing to go bankrupt and end up living on the street in a box.

8. That's no way to sell an idea
We want the rich to agree to help pay by appealing to their sense of fairness.

What have you done to deserve a rich person paying your bills?

What a chicken-shit approach.

Are you trying to kill health care before it gets off the ground?

9. You gonna run ads against Obama and Congress?
Neither one is proposing single payer.
