HOLBROOKE SHUTS DOWN TUCKER!
"I did not come on this show to discuss solipsistic media trivia involving CBS. If you have questions about the campaign, I'll wait it out until you're ready to discuss them."

WOO HOO! Tucker looked like he was about to CRY! LOL!

That gives me an idea. Remember how Newt Gingrich came up with his little list of words to describe Democrats? Words like: sick, bizarre, etc. Well, Democrats should just make a list of list of words to befuddle conservative radio and talk show hosts. "Solipsistic" is a good start.

11. solipsistic, adj.
of or pertaining to solipsism.

sol·ip·sism (slp-szm, slp-)
n. Philosophy

1. The theory that the self is the only thing that can be known and verified.
2. The theory or view that the self is the only reality.

...like Tucker, I also had to look it up.

32. In the language of the average person...
"Solipsistic" refers to one who is self-centered to the core.
Cases in point:
AWOL McPsycho
Crashcart O'Sleazeball
Tom DeRAID
Buckhead--with a capital F
etc., and so on, and so forth (insert nazi scumbag here)

3. Holbrooke is one of the very few strong dem voices out there
he made absolute mincemeat out of Perle on This Week a few months ago

he was very dismissive of Perle, which RP did not like at all, but he was incapable of putting a dent in Holbrooke's combination of subject mastery and impeccable logic

one of the few gratifying gasbag moments; that's why I remember it so well

when are they going to have Rahm Emanuel on? he was the best dem I've ever seen on Crossfire... nobody has ever laid a glove on him at any venue I've seen

wonder why....no I don't: they don't WANT strong dems on; they'd rather have Donna Brazile

8. That's right -- strong Democratic voices don't get invited back
Randi Rhodes makes this point over and over. You chump them on their show, and suddenly the invitations dry up. But if you're a wet noodle of a punching bag (just to mix a metaphor), they'll have you on all the time:

"And now, for the Democrats, 'Tomato can' Higgins. 'Tomato can,' isn't it a fact that all you Democrats just hate America and you'd really like to see the terrorists win?"

"Well Tucker, I don't think it's totally fair to say that all Democrats hate America -- we love you so much -- but yes, I'd have to say that when the terrorists win, Democrats will be happy to dance to whatever tune they call."

Very thoughtful, well informed, intelligent and sensible. I really like his style. Kerry needs to get him out and onto the cable news shows more often, he's the best foreign policy voice the Kerry campaign has.

They don't let the Republicans dictate the rules, and they only want to talk about what they were invited to talk about, and they don't fall for the same old traps, and they won't do what they're told to do!!!

{Little Tucker, bow tie askew and lower lip trembling, bolts from the room, runs down the hall, and slams the door shut behind him. You can hear the snucking little sobs as he cries on his bed, kicking his little feet.}

You are a really good writer. I don't believe I've ever heard a sob described as "snucking," but it works! I did, however, know what solipsistic meant. Let's all pause for a moment and consider the contrast (IQ, clarity, etc.) between Holbrooke and Ms. Motormouth Kindasleazy Rice.

for all Democrats when subjected to needling by the right-wing media. Democrats shouldn't entertain any provocative remarks or questions -- they should lead the conversation to issues important to the campaign.

I love Paul Begala & James Carville, but with Tucker's belligerence & Novak's lack of ethics, I hardly ever watch Crossfire anymore. I just happened to catch it today, waiting to hear Kerry's press conference on CNN.

Right or wrong, the appearance of strength matters deeply to the stupid white men of America. Trust me, I know.
The more the Kerry Campaigns becomes confrontational and practices the art of calculated ridicule the better they will do with SWM.

The right words are critical.

Bush should be painted by everyone who speaks his name as a loser, as reckless, as dangerous, as a failure, and as a disaster.

Too often we are happy to say he's dumb or stupid or a moron.

He's obviously dumber than Kerry or Clark or Edwards, but it looks like he made an 88 in Philosophy and History at Yale, so he can't be that dumb.

By saying he's dumb, we lower the expectations for him.

But words like Loser, Failure and Reckless are the kinds of words people don't want to be assoiciated with.

Start practicing!

47. Transcript:
CARLSON: Ambassador Holbrooke, thanks a lot for joining us. I want to ask you quickly about this CBS story, now that it's been shown that there was some coordination between the Kerry campaign and CBS News. I actually don't hold the Kerry campaign responsible for that. Campaigns obviously have no standards. But CBS ought to have some.

And it's pretty outrageous, it seems to me. But here's my question. Does the Kerry campaign really think, as Terry McAuliffe has said repeatedly, that it's going to get political mileage out of talking about George W. Bush's service or lack of service in the National Guard? Does anybody care and isn't that kind of a pathetic distraction from the real issues facing our country?

RICHARD HOLBROOKE, FORMER U.S. AMBASSADOR TO UNITED NATIONS: Well, I think the real issues are clearly the ones like Iraq, the economy, and health care. You're the ones who have brought up the swift boat business, which I think is grossly dishonest.

As for CBS, CBS made a whopping mistake. It has nothing to do with the election. And let's not get high and mighty here. CNN made a hellacious set of mistakes on Vietnam a few years ago. NBC had its crisis. Mistakes happen. CBS has apologized. It has nothing to do with the campaign.

CARLSON: Well, OK, since you're weighing in on media ethics here, Mr. Ambassador, what do you think of the idea that a CBS News producer called Joe Lockhart over on your campaign and passed on the number of someone who wanted to help the campaign, facilitated, coordinated a meeting between these two people? Are you going to defend that or do you think it's repulsive?

HOLBROOKE: Tucker, I did not come on this show to talk about solipsistic media trivia. This is a great campaign with major issues in it, and if you want to talk about CBS, I'll just wait until we're talking about issues that will affect the nation and the world.
