1. Biden has been consistent.
Biden: ‘We misread how bad the economy was’
July 5, 2009

The Obama administration warned earlier this year that unemployment would climb to 8% if the recovery plan was not passed in Congress. New reports now show a 9.5% unemployment rate in June.

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked Vice President Joe Biden to explain why the Obama administration prediction was wrong.

“The truth is, we and everyone else misread the economy,” confessed Biden.

Biden tells "Meet the Press" that "everyone guessed wrong" on the impact of the stimulus, economy was worse off than anyone thought.

Backs away from the estimate that the funds could create or save 3.5 million jobs, instead promises 600,000 by the end of the summer.

...Biden said the White House is keenly aware of the gap between the rhetoric used to sell fast passage of the legislation and the reality that has 14.5 million people unemployed.

"No one realized how bad the economy was. The projections, in fact, turned out to be worse. But we took the mainstream model as to what we thought — and everyone else thought — the unemployment rate would be," Biden said.

Those projects came from a report co-written by Biden's chief economist, Jared Bernstein. Last week, Bernstein briefed reporters on the stimulus spending and insisted the report was in line with others' research, but not aligned with reality.

"At the time our forecast seemed reasonable. Now, looking back, it was clearly too optimistic," he told reporters last Monday....

4. "No one realized how bad the economy was. "
To me that means they didn't realize how bad of a mess they inherited. They have to try and figure out which are the best ways to steer the bus off the cliff that W drove it onto, while making constant adjustments along the way.

5. These same media whores who are asking how this could happen
Never once asked how bu$h misjudged WMD, or bin Laden or the economy.

6 months in to Obama's 1st term and they are nailing him and Biden to the cross because the economy was fucked up worse than anyone could have imagined.

And by who? the bunch they didn't ask any questions of.

:grr:

6. There always was the second stimulus bill.
They have been doing their hardest to make us think if Obama didn't pick the correct door then the game is over. So is the the end game over or did Obama tell them different? Today Obama said it's "on the table". That's the only consistency that matters.

He does gaffe...but nowhere near the level of what the idiots of this world think. I know someone who works for him...I'll take his word when he claims that Biden is a smart cat...
