Parlock the Martyr loves DemocraticUnderground
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 10:33 AM by WilliamPitt
A reader of mine apparently wrote to Parlock, and got the following response. Phil doesn't seem the type to stir up trouble. Or something. Notice from the mentioned attached picture how he took his children to another rally festooned with Bush signs. Ever see those women who use baby strollers as battering rams while walking through mall crowds? Sounds a bit like ol' Phil.

==

Dave:

The dems dumb (democraticunderground.com) message board has thousands of comments on how they are going to discredit me.

they are desperate. a man and two children are a threat to the dems if the children hold up two signs in a sea of other signs.

here is a picture of my family and a friend in charleston at the 4th of july bush rally in Charleston.

We were quiet, peaceful and well liked by all around us till they saw the color of our signs, then we became the loathed opposition in their eyes.

There are still real people out there and I am one of them.

Thanks for your expressed concerns,

Phil

not impressed with phil?, or what he teaches his children. this is important in teaching and being an example for my children. carry it with me everywhere

4. Dear Phil
May I compliment you on your lovely family? I do have a question, though. We both know how vitriolic those Democrats can get when they see signs backing their opponents. After all, this was not the first time you've had problems with them. So why, I wonder, would you bring poor little Sophia with you and expose her to such a rowdy element? Surely, if you wanted to introduce her to democracy in action, it would make more sense to bring her to an event less inclined to get ugly.

Still, I'm sure you knew exactly what you were doing.

Regards,

etc. etc.

5. "There are still real people out there and I am one of them."
Sounds like we have a superiority complex on our hands. My reaction to this whole thing is that he has the right to go see Edwards, and, of course, he should take his children to see the future Vice President of the United States.

But that is no time to "support our President" by starting fights with people. It's only common sense. I wouldn't take a young child to the front of a bush rally and start waving around a sign that said "war criminal" on it. He knew what he was doing, he knows how partisan these events can be. He just wanted to get some attention.

I thought that it was only me that disliked the women that used baby strollers to hit people with. That is one of my pet peeves.

Phil is one nutty man who is training his kids on how to hate rather early in life.

13. How George McGovern Handled a Heckler
Keep in mind this was when he knew he was not going to beat Nixon and had nothing to lose any more. McGovern landed in an airport and was greeted on the runway by a small crowd of supporters and one asshole carrying a Nixon sign and chanting "Four More Years!" He walked over to the Nixon supporter, put his arm around his should, and whispered in his ear: "I have a secret for you. Kiss my ass."

That was one of my favorite bits in the whole book! IIRC it was a few days before the election, and Nixon was up by over ten points. McG had nothing left to lose, and so he laid it on the line for the Nixon supporter.

At least he didn't spread a rumor that Nixon was addicted to an exotic East African narcotic or anything...!

You may be a piece of trash but don't drag innocent kids into your games. They don't need this and can't make decisions on their own to attend or not to attend events. Take them to a Bushco rally instead of attending all the other rallies like the Dole rally in 1996 and the Clinton rally in 2000. By the way have you gotten rid of the gun you used to shoot into the headquaters yet? Just make sure you dispose of it where no kids can get a hold of it please.

33. Parlock sez he got Penn State degree in 1979. He's not in yearbook.
Not that that means anything, but ... his resume says he received a bachelor's degree in science from Penn State university in 1979.

He is not in the graduating class in the Penn State yearbook from that year (maybe he was a winter grad, maybe he didn't get his pic. taken (but anyone who likes publicity as much as he does, you'd think they'd be in the yearbook).

I'm just sayin'

34. Say Will, perhaps your friend could send Parlock...
photos of those compassionate conservative gentlemen who attacked women during the Repub convention? The hair-puller pictured above, the Young Republican who yanked a woman to the ground and kicked her while she was down (and immediately denied doing it even though he was caught on video). Wasn't there another incident of a female protestor who was punched in the face by a big, brave Bush supporter? How about the grieving mother of a dead American soldier who gets arrested for daring to ask a question of Laura?

I'd say protestors at a Democratic gathering fare much better than anyone who expresses the slightest disagreement at a BushCo photo op.
