They are much better at coming together and implementing the things their supporters want.

I hate them and they are evil but they are better at supporting their stands on issues than we are. Blind Support may not be a good thing but it gets shit done.

We have an opportunity that very few political parties will ever get. What good does all the work we did to win in 2006 and 2008 do if we let this opportunity fail???

Just like the old joke says.....

"I don't belong to any organized political party....I am a democrat!!"

5. Of course they would, most of our guys would be voting with them,
If it's good for the people it doesn't get done. If it helps the owners it's full speed ahead.

8. Republicans are better at sticking together as a group than Democrats.
They are more likely to bury personal differences for the good of the party. Democrats are like herding cats, only not as fun or entertaining.

10. Sad but true
They would achieve far more of their agenda (and did when they had a simple majority) than we will, I believe.

11. This is the price we pay for not being ditto heads
We end up not being ditto heads! I really wish the democrats who wanted to vote against us would at least do the ethical thing, Vote for cloture and against the bill. The filibuster was never meant to be used on every single bill...

12. You understand exactly the level of "lockstep" we need to get to
I can tolerate you using your vote as you see fit but cloture needs to be a part of the deal when you are a part of the caucus. If we had that we could get meaningful though less than ideal legislation through.

13. It didn't matter when the republicans had a simple 51 majority, Dems were shitting in their pants.
Edited on Wed Jul-01-09 03:06 AM by GreenTea
The republicans threatened the Dems every time they want to force their sick corporate elitist agenda & ideology down our throats...

If the Democrats found the nerve or voice to squeak and speak up and say the word "filibuster"..then the mighty 51 republicans threatened a nuclear option and the Dems screamed & ran in terror they were so spineless frightened and terrified...

The republicans were laughing at the lost scared Dems all the time....the republican didn't need a 60 filibuster proof majority...they just said BOOOO! And the Dems ran afraid of some bullshit nuclear option...It was almost hilarious if it wasn't so fucking pitiful!

And now with 60 seats the Dems are still afraid of the republicans and believe all the republican threats and lies and bullshit how the republicans will take back congress if the Dems pass a public option...What complete republican bullshit & scare tactics...but what else do the republicans have...But it's always enough to scare the spineless Dems....

The ONLY way the Dems will lose in 2010 is if they don't pass a public option. The republicans are toast and will be for a few elections...but they hide it and the idiot fucking Dems believe the republicans have this magical devastating power.

14. They got more done with 50 than we did with 60!
You NEVER saw our Senate caucus fight a Republican majority on ANYTHING! No filibusters, no resistance, just surrender every time. Then, when progressive activists gave them the Senate solely through grassroots organizing(like ACORN, who won SEVERAL Senate seats for us even though the senators they elected promised nothing to the poor and kept that promise!), they act like their "no strategy strategy" WORKED!

18. If they were "implementing things their supporters want" there would be no federal gun laws.

They only implemented things their WEALTHY supporters wanted when they had full control of the government 2001 to 2006.

That's not a virtue nor is it something anyone should emulate. And we are getting things done. IT took them 30 years even as good as they are at being lemmings
