2. But Obama Never Promised No Tax Increases On The Middle Class!
Edited on Tue Jun-30-09 12:03 AM by MannyGoldstein
If you actually listened to what he said, it was "I will not raise faxes on the Middle Class". And, in fact, there has been zero mention of raising the cost of faxes. So stop making up stuff just because you didn't get your pony, OK?

Sincerely,

Ann A. Pologist

4. Shocking because it is normally their MO to rule things in or out. I'm so surprised they continue
reiterate the same point causing shock and outrage. I'm shocked and outraged.

5. Good
The government needs to spend their way out of this recession, and spending real money beats the shit out of borrowing it from tomorrow. Just as long as they raise taxes on the rich by much more

6. Don't you just love evasive hope and change?
The middle class is going to be hammered with new front door, back door and BOTH side doors new taxes or 'fees'. I've never been able to read obama's lips cause he talks out of BOTH sides of his mouth.

Much ado about nothing.

8. I didn't believe his promise to begin with.
Anyone with even half a brain could tell he couldn't possibly pay for all of his spending proposals by only raising taxes on the >$250K crowd, so nobody should be surprised when the tax increase comes. Getting angry would be understandable - I certainly will be - but being surprised would just be ignorant and rather stupid.

He was still going to get my vote by default, and he still will in 2012, but if he approves a tax increase on me (divide $250K by 6, that's roughly what I make) he'll be taking away every cent I'd ever donate to him again. Every second of volunteer time, too.

11. And we won't rule out voting AGAINST him if he continues to break promises...
... and work against change for the status quo elites...

We need to repeal the Reagan tax cuts for the rich, NOT raise the taxes on those that are already getting DESTROYED in this economy! It is either just plain STUPID, or it is very COMPLICIT in working with the elites against our interests.

12. FYI: ***GIBBS NEVER SAID THE OP'S TITLE IN VIDEO***
Again, until you SEE it in writing you know 1. mostly lazy MsM story, 2. lazy posting with over reaction (believing lazy MsM), 3. damn, why do we have at least 10 of these videos every week on DU?

13. Question: Is that pledge still operative?
Answer: We're going to let the process work its way through...

Better answer would be- Yes.

14. I'll stick with
being disappointed with things that have actually happened and save the pre-emptive disappointment for later, especially when the evidence is an evasive answer by a press secretary.
