Sebelius Indicates Willingness To Compromise On Public Plan, Offers Support For Co-Op Proposal
Yeeeeeeah,....now I'm starting to get disappointed in the Obama admin.....jus a lil....

This is stupid, two polls that are 72% and 83% say Americans want a public option and the reThugs are becoming a club versus a national party.

Sebelius works FOR the Obama admin, regardless what Obama has said the messages are starting to sound mixed on this issue and reThugs will say no to ANYTHING Obama proposes so who cares what they say?

There's no need for legislation for regional "co-ops" that could have been done long ago with some rich folk wanting to make some money.

If the public plan doesn't pass I would love to start a DU Public plan of running more progressives against the dems who vote against it...

It would be cheap and easy relative to spending 20% of the nations avg income on healthcare (that's if you're well) and energy generation after generation.

2. Oh brother, another corporate whore. A public option is a public option.
A cooperative is a cooperative or private insurance, not public. They are apples and oranges. These corporate whores in their ivory towers really must think we are so stupid.

3. Polling Data Alone Won't Do It. We Need Grassroots Support! Ground Game!
This reminds me of the Proposition 8 fight in California. Too many of us relied on early polling data suggesting that Proposition 8 would fail. So, we sat back, as the Pro-Prop 8 types raised money, and ran a smear campaign suggesting that without Proposition 8, schools would teach kids to be gay. The Pro-Proposition 8 also ran an excellent ground game throughout the State while No On * limited their demonstrations to liberal areas. The result is that Proposition 8 was passed despite early poll numbers showing a defeat.

Likewise, the pro-public option crowd has no ground game whatsoever. Instead, we are relying on poll numbers and President Obama's statements of support. The only pro-reform ground game out there is the single payer advocates who AGAINST President Obama's proposed public option. I think the single payer advocates may get their wish, and defeat President Obama's public option.

The public option will NOT pass unless their is a significant ground game in support of it. The public option will fail for the same reason the No On 8 folks failed in California. We are sitting back and relying on early poll results.

5. Sebellius was in SF a few weeks ago and she had to be swept into the hotel they she was meeting in
because she didn't want to face the people who had come out to protest in favor of single payer.

There is some ground game going here.

7. Time for a little protest theater. Remember back when we sent that

Rep Scott McInnis from Colorado fruit cakes because of some idiot remark he made? What should we send to Kathleen Sibelius and Dianne Feinstein? How about some of those plastic poos you find in joke stores with a little banner on them saying poo on your health care plan. I could manage the postage and purchase price. How about you guys? Here's a place who sells it.

9. Our polite and not so polite mails and phone calls aren't being even paid
attention to. Maybe something more graphic is what's needed to get their attention and let them know just how foul our moods are these days.

10. Wouldn't it be easier to count the Democrats who WON'T compromise on a public plan?
Glad to see they're so willing to give up and compromise on something a majority of the American want to their toothless and powerless opponents who still hold all the cards, apparently.

17. Another portrait of courage.
And to think of all the times that Hillary had to wear a bullet proof vest underneath her clothes due to the death threats she received while promoting healthcare back in the 90s. Isn't there anyone with balls in this administration????

Everything is a freaking compromise!!!!!!

18. She said she's "open to it", nothing different than what anybody else has been saying
The fact is that Senators have egos and so they want to hear from the White House that their proposals are at least being considered. As the President said, the battle hasn't even begun.
