Who here is extra proud of Kerry's appearence on Letterman?
I as giddy with glee that Kerry went after Bush the way he did. It did not come across as mean only true.

I thought he was totally likable and funny. He showed that he was also very quick with a come back, that is something that makes me feel good about the debates.

He was informed and confident, I watched it twice and loved every minute.

Let me make a prediction, we are about to get a wave of "John Kerry is so mean to Bush" from the media. The media is about to cry uncle because Kerry is talking about things that they refuse to report. They only thing they will be able to say is Kerry is being so mean, which my reply to that will be "And Max Cleland is like Osama Bin Laden, how exactingly?"

Suck it media Kerry has some balls!

17. He Did Great!
He was intelligent and charming. W is trying to find a book to teach this fast. Kerry also fought in Nam, so Bush is in array again.

2. Kerry did great
Wish I had taped it.

I thought Dave asked good questions too.

And I LOVED it when Kerry got to read the Top 10 list.

I'm really feeling good now.

8. He just kicked shrubya ass left and right
Talked about Halliburton, clarified his vote for Iraq, laid out a few plans about Iraq, sais that Bush would sit in Cheney's lap for the debates and joked about Teresa paying off the deficit.

He held back no punches, there will be a link up soon so everyone can watch it.

He was awesome!

11. All I can say is that he has his message down pact! He was extremely
convincing and he did so well he got my blood rushing and my inspiration flowing again for the first time in this election. He was sharp as a tack, looked at ease, was very witty, very like-able, fun, seemed extremely knowledgeable and systematically tore Bush apart with facts and his outstanding expression of those facts. He will be hard to beat in the debates. He looked like the Kerry we saw in the Democratic debates only better. He came across as someone you would feel confidant turning over the power of the presidency to and you would feel confidant he would do a much better job in Iraq and on the war on terror. He simply was awesome! I am really excited about the guy for the first time.

42. Here's the thread from yesterday. He smoked. And I'm a tuff critic.
He was loose and didn't drone on. Made some stinging remarks. Dave finished with "See you when your president." Total endorsement.

5. Kerry did great
I thought he was a bit nervous at first, but he got with the flow of it in the second segment and made a great case for the change he represents.

I agree that he was tough on Bush, but not unfairly so. Even some republicans are pointing out the Bush BS on Iraq for what it is these days.

There should be an asterik next to his height wherever it is listed that says something like "Please note: John Kerry has a really large skull (and bones :) )"

23. I don't think there will be a media backlash....
This is what the media wants....A dogfight.
That's the stuff ratings are made of, and don't believe that Fox™ is going to let themselves hang out to dry on this one.

They all want to build this up to elicit a counter from Buxh.
I don't think GW has the ammo in his arsenal. They've bluffed their way through the last four years....but now America has a choice.

And the Media will ALWAYS cover the alpha candidate.....It sells.

27. I liked the smile.
He came out smiling, and he didn't stop smiling.

I also liked the way he flipped the card after he
was done reading the Top 10. My only quibble was he
should have read the numbers also.

But yeah, he's armed and ready to go. "I know I'm
going to win."

Right on.

28. I am impressed (even more than ever)
personally I liked his style before, but I just like mellow people anyway, the only thing I was ambivalent about was his war explanation but was more than satisfied with his elaboration tonight. He does seem like a strong leader, and trustworthy, his smile seems more genuine for one thing and his eyes are kindly while 8 has beady mean eyes, seriously, they say eyes are the windows to the soul (that's why Cheney wears those big glasses, to hide his souless eyes)

33. i'm glad they spend a large amount on serious issues
the humor was of course good and it could have been good enough for a show like letterman. but it was even better since they also discussed the serious issues. isn't it interesting that Kerry gets a chance to discuss serious things on shows like letterman and jon stewart while on shows that are supposed to be about serious news they almost never focus on the issues.

34. He was excellent and well received..
The Letterman show does get many tourists, so the audience was not just made up of Democratic New Yorkers.

I thought Letterman asked him many key questions, altho clearly not in a combative way. It was almost as if he was asking him the things that Kerry needed to clarify his position on. I have a feeling that Letterman isn't a Bush voter, even if he did cut his income tax!

My favorite of the top ten list was "having Teresa pay off the deficit".

38. I was really nervous about this appearance
I did not think Kerry came off well on The Daily Show, but he was better than any could have hoped for on Letterman. He completely lost that annoying mannerism of tossing his head back and laughing. Every word out of his mouth seemed truly genuine. And Letterman fed him perfectly. Kerry managed to get more than a few good hits at Bush and come off as a funny guy at the same time.

47. I was telling people at work about it, today...I was very
proud.

I said Kerry was brilliant in his New York University Speech and later on Letterman he was suave and funny! Some said they heard the "10 ten reasons" and thought they were hilarious.

One woman, a teacher, said she read Paul Krugman's review and said it was good.

I haven't read it yet but I'm going to now...thanks for this thread, Melodybe!
