Cornyn Calls on Obama to Present Immigration Reform Plan
Is Obama's plate too full or not? Jeebus, they criticize him for taking on too much, then expect more. :eyes:

Cornyn Calls on Obama to Present Immigration Reform Plan

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) on Tuesday called on President Barack Obama to come up with a comprehensive immigration plan this year, saying a directive from the White House is the only way to push the complex issue forward.

“What we need is not another photo op at the White House. What we need now is a plan from the president,” said Cornyn, ranking member on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security.

“The president doesn’t write legislation, but he does have the bully pulpit,” Cornyn said, adding that right now “it’s unclear how they can get it finished.”

Cornyn is one of several lawmakers who will meet with administration officials Thursday to discuss immigration policy. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs acknowledged Monday that time may run out this year before the administration and Congress — already spread thin with health care and climate change legislation — can take up yet another time-consuming and sweeping proposal.

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) echoed those concerns: “We’ve got a full plate already.”

3. Why can't HE come up with a plan?
He IS a US Senator after all and it's his job to, you know, write legislation, isn't it? Oh, wait a minute, he's a Republican. I guess that means that he won't be getting around to coming up with a plan anytime during the next century. So, if he's not writing laws, what is he doing exactly up there on Capitol Hill? How's he earning his money and taxpayer funded health care coverage, exactly? Or for that matter, what are all the members of the House and Senate whom are urging President Obama to "do something" about DADT or other issues doing themselves? You really have to wonder............

Oh, and would anybody here be willing to make some predictions about just how *supportive* he would even be about any proposal that President Obama might propose. He and his allies would thunder against and threaten to filibuster ANY plan put forward by President Obama, so his comments here are even worse than useless. And when did immigration reform suddenly become a priority? Economy? Health care reform? Iran? North Korea?
:wtf:

The really scary thing is that this is NOT an article from the Onion. With Republicans like these, who needs comedians?
