As well as the comment about how great it would be if insurance companies were able to better compete by driving down their administration costs. POTUS spoke about the effort insurance companies expend on denying coverage--you know the 'insurance company bureaucrat between you and your doctor.'

Obama did say earlier he did not know what form public health plan will take. Does that leave a national co-op on the table?

He talks about investment in community development, also programs that build on social capital which affects minority communities a great deal, education, and infrastructure building in destitute neighborhoods as being the key. Which is true.

Further more he's right. Statistically and just plain normally Minorities have a high unemployment rate. It makes no sense to flood said areas as the high unemployment rate was there before the recession and will be there in the end. It's better to stop the bleeding all around as we're a massive nation that depend on the other. So if we find a way to calm that mudslide then we can calm the floods in the smaller communities.

The problem is...that he further reinforces this state of mind that we're inferior in some way. Yes, the community is hurt more so due to varying factors---but when looking at the AA or any minority community as such actually heightens the issues and increases division.

What Obama believes the best panacea is, and I fully agree with him, is to target the community by investing within the community and the public works that enrich the community. Hand-outs, unfortunately don't work or are unsustainable. Especially in an economic downturn. That's like focusing on an ever leaking pustule when you're shot in a major organ. You target the major hurting zone first and then the pustule later or at least keep it clean.
