Free fax to ask to score Single-Payer: Health Rally in DC JUNE 25

Free fax to ask to score Single-Payer: Health Rally in DC JUNE 25

Dear xxx,

First thing this morning, I got a call from poor beleaguered Mr. Elbert Garcia in Rep. Rangel's office.

The IT genius behind everything HealthJustice does has just come up with a cool new tool for faxing your own Senators and Representative

****Fax LINK: (Please do both 1 and 2—its quick and easy).****

http://www.1payer.net/faxapp/

Please choose one of the following faxes to continue
Expand and Improve Medicare

Score Single Payer in the CBO

Roundup on Yesterday's Rangel Action
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday we began a fax campaign to Rep. Rangel and his committee members. I asked you to send the Congressman a convincing number of faxes in advance of his meeting with single payer advocates which is happening on Monday.
Results this morning: First thing in the office I got a call from poor beleaguered Mr. Elbert Garcia, the Communications Director in the New York office. We featured his email address yesterday. He woke up this morning to a very full email inbox and didn't know how he was going to respond to all the emails. I asked him just to let the Congressman know that the floods will stop when HR 676 goes to CBO for scoring.
Mr. Garcia also complained that no one could get through on their fax machine in New York and no one could fax out. Admittedly, this is a problem and so we cut the New York office out of the fax stream. The faxes still go to the DC office of the Congressman.
***Congresman Rangel is meeting with single payer advocates on Monday. Mr. Garcia assured me that our faxes are being tallied and reported to MR. Rangel. Therefore, let's make sure the Congressman knows there are a LOT of people who want HR 676 scored by CBO. Let's keep sending faxes through the weekend and into Monday.
Click here to send your fax.
Score HR 676. Now. No more excuses. (CBO needs to estimate the cost).
1. I predict a few million will show up to the rally and it will have less media
coverage than the "fire David Letterman" rally.
But, it still needs to happen and I appreciate all the hard work people put into it. It's just so frustrating that the media won't cover things that are against their corporate interests.
2. Well, I hope a few million DO show up. I am
too far away to go --besides I can not afford it.
Hope you sent the free faxes. Single payer deserves some light after being pushed off the table.
10. A few million?
That would be nice.... but not likely on a mid-week rally that hasn't exactly been well publicized (first I've heard of it right now, in fact.)
Sadly though, you're correct about the lack of coverage such an event would get from the corporate whore media.
Maybe the better approach would be to make some really huge "Single Payer NOW" signs and hijack the next round of teabagger rallies on July 4th? You know FAUX & CNN will be all over that crap.
6.  First Look: New Single Payer TV Ad---needs feedback.
First Look: New Single Payer TV Ad
Click here for a first look at our new TV ad. Right-click on the link and save the video to your desktop to see it. I think it's a killer ad -- an insurance company killer.
It's still in the final stages of production, so let me know what you think. Send your suggestions to me at clark.newhall@health-justice.org.
7. Thanks for Posting Free Fax Link.
Posting that free fax link is a real community service. We desperately need to get the voices of the millions of Americans who want and need single-payer health care to our congressional representatives. The Democratic Party is on the brink of destroying any hope we have for real health care reform.
The next step, if our Democrats don't listen, is to take to the streets like the brave Iranians. They are willing to put their lives on the line for democracy. On behalf of the many hundreds of thousands of Americans who are dying for lack of health care, we have to be willing to take to our streets for the same.
9. I have been in health care for many years. I see what no insurance
does to folks. The Dems plans so far will not do the trick--too little and industry is being appeased.
Pass the link to your email buddies. Thanks in advance.
And yes--the Iranian folks are brave.
